The U.S. State Department announced a global Level 4 travel advisory Thursday, instructing all Americans abroad to come home or shelter in place and stop all international travel.

It's the most severe warning from the federal government yet.

As the ability to fly home shrinks by the day, the government warned travelers to return while they can.

"In countries where commercial departure options remain available, U.S. citizens who live in the United States should arrange for immediate return to the United States, unless they are prepared to remain abroad for an indefinite period," the advisory says. "If you choose to travel internationally, your travel plans may be severely disrupted, and you may be forced to remain outside of the United States for an indefinite timeframe."

AFAIK,  infrastructure is not in place for most Manileños much less other major cities to work from home. So expect even longer hold for phone/chat times than usual.

"The Philippines government has carved out a small exemption for business process outsourcers, telling them to “provide transportation or temporary accommodation for their workers starting March 18, otherwise they will not be allowed to continue operating.”

« on: December 04, 2019, 11:16:36 AM »
Bad News

Hyatt just announced Devaluation coming March 2020 with Peak/Off-Peak pricing

"Introducing Off-peak and Peak point redemption for free nights.
Starting in March 2020, you’ll have more free night award flexibility, so you can plan ahead to get the most out of your points at more than 1000 hotels worldwide. Plus, if you have an existing award booking that drops to Off-peak in March, you’ll get an automatic one-time refund of the point difference – and you won’t be charged more if your booking goes up to Peak."

" More to know

If the redemption amount for a night on an existing award reservation is lowered to Off-peak in March, we’ll automatically refund the point difference, and if it goes to Peak, you won’t be charged any more points.
Points + Cash will also offer Off-peak and Peak point redemption. The cash required will still be 50% of the rate.
Free nights in suites will also be offered at Off-peak and Peak redemption.
You’ll have plenty of time to plan ahead. Redemption rates for free nights will be announced as soon as nights are available for reservations (usually 13 months in advance), and won’t change once posted. A new online calendar will help you plan (coming soon).
Hotel award categories aren’t changing – there are still 8."
