Deals/Deal Requests / Bulk chocolate chips
« on: March 04, 2019, 06:30:17 PM »
Hi, my wife does a lot of baking - anyone have recommendations for getting a good price on decent-to-good chocolate chips for a good price? Tried looking online, but even when buying 25-lb bags, price per ounce came out similar to my local grocery.

General Discussion / Amazon Buttoned down shirt too tight for tefillin
« on: February 15, 2019, 12:07:38 AM »
I got the slim fit, and it fits me nicely, but when I try to roll up the sleeves to put on tefillin, it cuts of my circulation, and even then I can barely roll it up enough to get it on!

Anyone have the same experience, or any solution?

Deals/Deal Requests / Macy's black friday rebates

Have a whole bunch - I know they need to each be in their own envelope, but was considering putting all the envelopes into one bigger one and sending it via FEDEX ground - more reliable, and probably cheaper, too.

Would they allow this? And if I'm submitting for a few different people/addresses, will this raise more flags and cause issues?

Any thoughts?

General Discussion / Mold in basement
« on: August 23, 2018, 12:22:37 AM »
Hi, anyone have experience with mold in basements? My basement sometimes has had leaks, and tends to be damp...our dehumidifier broke a while ago, and now there's mold growing on the wall. I can get a new one obviously, but wondering if there are people who are expert at dealing with this and don't have an agenda that they push, right or wrong (i.e., their own personal solution that they can install which will solve all problems).

Does anyone know of solar-powered outdoor lights without a motion detector, that turn on only at night? (truth be told, theoretically I'd be fine with them being on all day if they're solar powered)

General Discussion / Mazda CX-3 vs. Honda CR-V/Toyota RAV4
« on: February 03, 2018, 09:11:35 PM »
OK, I know they're not really a comparison, because the CX-3 is smaller, and more of a match to the HR-V. But if size is mostly irelevant, I just don't like the HR-V style and layout, how do they stack up in terms of reliability?

To be more precise...I'm looking into getting a used (3-years old) CR-V or RAV-4, and was considering getting a new CX-3 instead, for not much more. Planning on putting on a lot of miles, so need something that will hold up.

Curious to hear opinions/suggestions/rants.

Deals/Deal Requests / Need to buy LEGO minifigures
« on: December 04, 2017, 02:34:47 PM »
The real ones are really expensive, and having a hard time finding real ones used with the accessories. I'm hoping someone here can share some advice...I don't really care much for specific sets, just would like to get some of the figures for my kids to play with.

When my kids were younger and I wanted to spend a couple of days away with my wife, we could just have them stay by parents/in-laws. Now that they're a bit older (~5 yrs old), they have school, camp, etc; things they can't just skip a few days of (Parents and in-laws live in nearby city, not close enough to drop children off at school).

How do you deal with that?

One gift card has just over $100, a second one has $8. Selling for 75% of value.

Only caveat - they'd already been linked to my DD online account, so don't know how it would work for you to add it to yours.

General Discussion / Best Tie Rack Solution?
« on: May 24, 2017, 01:47:58 PM »
What do you guys use to store ties? I have about 50-60 ties at least, and could use a good way of being able to access, and see, all of them when I need to choose one, as well as having secure storage that has a low chance of getting knocked off or falling.

I'm currently using something like this (just with rubber instead of velvet):|THD|DigitalDecor|google||_pkw__pmt__product_207122292&mid=srfOhneNn|dc_mtid_8903yuu57254_pcrid_142850460449_pkw__pmt__product_207122292_slid_&gclid=CjwKEAjw3pTJBRChgZ3e7s_YhAkSJAASG9Vru2OhyAhvZP3Eq4bNLQv0PVolGgJh1nByEwtYO3_UYhoCP2Xw_wcB

I'd love to have something like this, but manual instead of with batteries:
