Have been looking into Dashcams lately and came across a deal on the A118C, which can be hard-wired in the car (rather than running on batteries). It mounts flush to the windshield and has a low-profile. Looks like it's a good value for the price and feature-set below.

Cost is $73.53 / Cost with coupon code GBA118C is $65.53. Free shipping.

General Discussion / Car Accident Question
« on: January 20, 2015, 07:00:43 PM »
On Monday, in NJ, someone hit my car, twice, as I was pulling out of a spot. They caused paint/body damage to my rear bumper. When I went to confront them, they drove away and I got their plate. Hit and run. Called 911 and filed a police report.

I'm insured with GEICO and the only issue I had was a Safelite repair last month. I have a $1k deductible.

Is my best course of action to file a claim (hate to do that) and have them pursue using the plate number/police report?

Goods For Sale/Trade / Cole Haan 25% Off Code

I've got a unique 25% code from Cole Haan for sale: $30. My assumption is that it can be stacked with standard offers, but I have not verified that.

Tech Talk / Trip To Greece - Phone Recco?
« on: June 25, 2012, 11:59:24 AM »
Going to Greece next week and wondering what the best way is to make select calls to Greece and also keep in touch with folks at home (US)

I could take my Incredible 2 (though it's rooted and GSM may not work) or my wife's iPhone 4S (believe it has CDMA/GSM chipset). I could:

1. Only use the phone when I'm on a wifi network (at a hotel) and make calls using Google Voice with workaround apps like Mobile VOIP/Groove/SIPgate
2. Buy a pre-paid SIM card when I get to Greece and use it for local calls / data, as needed (and when on data use a workaround setup)
3. Buy a pre-paid Verizon International plan and do the same as #2

My wife doesn't use her Freedom and neither of use our Sapphire Non-Preferred card. We would like to cancel them, leaving my my Freedom and my Preferred (she'd be a co-holder of both). Is there any negative in doing that?

- CL $10,500

Sapphire Preferred
-CL $16,000
-Wife has card with her name, same CC#

- CL: $1,100

Sapphire Non-Preferred
- CL: $10,000
- I have card with my name, same CC #

Up In The Air / Calling Continental - Tips?
« on: February 09, 2012, 05:18:21 PM »
Wife held a flight through Continental CSR - don't ask why - called last night, wait time (1) hour, was on hold for (2) hours, hung up. Same story today.

Any thoughts about how to break through and actually get someone on the phone?

Credit Cards / To Close or Not to Close?
« on: February 01, 2012, 07:32:51 PM »

My wife and I currently have Chase Freedom (for a while now; two separate accounts) and Chase Sapphire cards (same account). The Freedoms is now dormant since we're using the Sapphire. Should get the Sapphire Preferred tomorrow by mail.

How should I treat the other cards? Close them? Keep them open but not charge against them?

Up In The Air / Help Request: Rewards Transfer to SP
« on: January 30, 2012, 12:24:58 PM »
At the suggestion of an active member, I'm posting the following request for assistance.

My wife and I are looking forward to taking our honeymoon this summer and would like to transfer our Chase Ultimate Reward points into CO miles.

Unfortunately we have the Sapphire (non-preferred) card.

Wondering if anyone would be so kind as to accept a transfer and then pass along to our CO account.

Would be grateful and indebted.

Credit Cards / Chase Freedom -> Chase Sapphire Ultimate Rewards Transfer
« on: January 29, 2012, 12:58:43 PM »
Hi Everyone,

I currently have a a Chase Freedom card, my wife and I also have a Sapphire card and both of us have the same number on that account. My wife closed her Freedom card and had her Ultimate Rewards transferred to her new Sapphire card. I had planned on doing the same but it occurred to me that they may not accept it since while I have my own Sapphire card with my name on it, we're sharing a number.

What are your thoughts?

Up In The Air / Chase Ultimate Rewards - Mileage Transfer?
« on: January 29, 2012, 12:56:54 PM »
Hi Everyone,

First thread here, hope I've picked the right forum - I've got a fair number of Chase Ultimate Rewards on my Chase Freedom credit card. I've noticed that you can book airfare through their site, but the "deals" don't seem to be great. Is there a way to turn those rewards into miles?
