Looking for some guidance for a potential February visit for several nights.

Best to fly into Kilimanjaro if going for nature and not beaches?

What would be recommended for a stay this short?

Through March, I'm seeing NYC for 980 (usually 1.6k), Beijing for 500 (1.2k), HKG also slightly discounted.
Haven't checked other routes yet.
Exec/Flycard accounts it seems.

Up In The Air / Website w/ details on accruals for all fare codes
« on: August 30, 2015, 01:46:04 AM »
Sry for the bulky title header.

This website apparently allows you to enter all fare codes on all airlines, and tells you what accrual ratio every partner airline will credit.

I don't vouch for the accuracy of the info.

In short, you would need to depart from Russia, fly via AUH to Thailand/Vietnam, fly back to AUH, then go to Australia, possibly on their A380, return to AUH, and back to Russia via AUH.
Need to depart DME and return to LED I believe.

For economy, as low as 350 europ.

Would earn around 25k AA miles, covering most of the cost of the flight.

And for biz, as low as 1,600 Euro perhaps.

Would earn a 25% AA bonus, so around 30k

Up In The Air / SAS miles - Your experiences
« on: July 19, 2015, 06:47:37 AM »
Unsure if anyone here has any experience, but I see some decent uses if I can get my hands on some.

Some questions.

1) What routing rules exist on Star Alliances award reservations?
2) Is a stopover allowed?
3) My understanding is that YQ aren't charged. Is this correct?
4) Are holds allowed?
5) What's the infant fee on miles redemptions?

Thx ya'll

Up In The Air / Flights to EZE/SCL in J for btw 1.1-1.5k

Seems like it's lie flat, flying on AM, up to 200% mileage accrual on DL

Also, some CC's have a 2-4-1 deal.
"Don't forget about the World Elite MC benefit they have... 2-4-1 on AM J fares. I got off the phone with one of their travel advisors and they quoted me ~$2,200 in total for two after the 2-4-1 and the taxes/fees on the companion ticket. $1,110 per person is pretty darn good if you ask me."

Up In The Air / TLV-CPT for $581
« on: April 12, 2015, 04:09:51 AM »
This is for Ethiopian, and has 2 stops.
TLV-ADD-JNB-CPT
CPT-GBE-ADD-TLV

I'm guessing there's s/t going on here, b/c flying to JNB with them costs an extra $300, even though the CPT route stops in JNB on the way over.

Stopover costs an extra $75.

Would earn 10k miles w/ UA I believe.
