Credit Cards / Citi A/A
« on: May 01, 2014, 03:29:27 PM »
Was just notified that Citi closed ALL my CC accounts. I've been a customer for many years and have some of my oldest cards with them. They can only tell me that it was for "security reasons" and that the decision is "non-negotiable." The rest of the info, they say, will be sent to me within 7 to 10 business days. Has anyone had this before? Is Citi taking a page out of Chase's book?

Credit Cards / BoA A/A
« on: November 01, 2013, 02:52:35 PM »
Not sure how prevalent this is and if it merits a thread unto its own, but i'm posting this as an FYI and maybe to also get some help from the pros here.

I get a call from BoA asking about some recent large purchases i made. At the beginning i thought it was about the freeze they put in my account (subsequently lifted after a call) so i answered freely. Next thing i know he starts asking about a third-party company check i used to pay my bill, and lets me know that he's shutting my account because of it. B"h my checking account was no effected.

Just giving you guys a heads up about paying BoA CCs with third-party checks and that, yes, BoA too does A/As/FRs (this came with a call and a demand for an explanation, so that would make it a hybrid).

Any help would be appreciated (it's sort of an older card and i also don't want the 'closed by issuer' on my report). TIA!

Credit Cards / Barclays Reconsideration
« on: September 02, 2012, 01:07:42 AM »
Sorry for starting a new thread, but with the Barclays US Airways card becoming a force to be reckoned with in the churning world, and the limited information regarding this card on this forum, i felt compelled to do so.

So here's my question:

Does Barclays recon work like Chase that if you offer to transfer available credit lines, they agree in no time, or do they play it differently? Does anyone have actual real-life experience with this?

On a side note, i would like to report that HUCA doesn't work quite that well at Barclays, as they keep logs of your previous calls and the rep right away sees what the previous rep told you.

Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Credit Cards / Churning Amex Starwood - Blank? Or new SPG Num?
« on: May 01, 2012, 02:20:37 PM »
When trying to churn (and re-receive the sign-up bonus for) the Amex Starwood Card, is it better to leave your SPG number blank or open a new SPG account to supply when signing up? Does anyone have ACTUAL experience with this? If yes, your input would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks a bunch!!!!!!!

p. s. I know im a first time poster blah blah blah.. and i should first search the site blah blah blah... but yes, I HAVE searched the site numerous times and spent many hours doing so, but i have yet to find a concise answer relating to this exact question.
