I really hope and pray that no one thinks it would be funny to dress up as anything Corona-virus related for Purim this year. Does anyone disagree?

Credit Cards / Next CC to apply for
« on: February 11, 2020, 01:40:46 PM »
I live in Canada (YYZ) and generally use miles to fly to Israel and MIA/FLL. Therefore, I am limited to Air Canada, Elal and WestJet. I currently have about 800K UR and I am able to pay my tuition on credit card, so am looking for one or two CC's to sign up for to pay my  tuition with and get a good sign up bonus. My question is: Should I keep piling up UR and stay int eh Chase network, or does it make sense to get a Citi Thank You card? If it is the Citi route, which two cards make the most sense?

Credit Cards / Credit Card for Large Tuition
« on: February 22, 2018, 03:11:21 PM »
My child's school is letting me put the tuition on credit card (and not pay any fees) if I do it early enough (they will then invest the money and more than recover the fees). My question is: are there any credit cards that have extra points for education/non-profits?

Or, should I just sign up for the Chase Ink Preferred and get the 80K signup bonus?

Up In The Air / Smoking on a flight
« on: October 27, 2016, 10:04:52 AM »
Last week I travelled on AC85 from TLV to YYZ. With about 3-4 hours left in the flight, an alarm from the bathroom went off. I thought it was someone who needed help, but it turned out someone thought it would be wise to smoke on a plane, and it was the smoke alarm. The flight attendants handled the situation very professionally, and described the process. When we landed we had to wait a few minutes for the police to take the man off the plane. I have no complaints about how it was handled.

What I want to know is: How did the man light his cigarette? If it was using a lighter or matches, what is to stop someone from bringing on 2.9 oz of gasoline and lighting a match or lighter, and blowing the gas up? Anyone know how this could have gotten past security in Ben Gurion?

Hi,

I searched but did not see a thread like this. If there is one, please merge/show me.

We are travelling with a 4 yr old and 1 year old on AC to TLV. Any tips for keeping them busy in the airport/plane? Any suggestions of toys or things to get that are good for a plane?

Up In The Air / Around the world trip
« on: July 02, 2015, 03:57:14 PM »
I have not seen a post about this topic. If there is one, I apologize!

They used to be more common, but which airlines offer Around the world trips using miles? Which are the best and easiest to book with?

Has anyone done one recently? Starting from North America (I live in Toronto, but anywhere on the east coast is fine), what would you suggest as a good itinerary?
