Deals/Deal Requests / ISO Grocery shipping from NYC to MIA/FLL Pessach
« on: March 06, 2015, 02:17:36 PM »
So I am looking for a reliable shipping person/company that offers shipping groceries in a refrigerated truck/trailer.

I was told there are a few guys that do this, and some charge between $10-15 a box, does anyone know of a service that does this?

We are quite a few families traveling for the holiday to Miami and prefer to do most of the cooking prep work here in NY then ship the stuff cooked frozen down to miami.

Thanks for the heads ups!

Shabbat shalom!

Etihad has some holiday specials for you folks in New York / Dallas / Chicago / Washington D.C. / Los Angeles / San Francisco to the Middle East, India and Africa. We did some primarily checks for the following:
Johannesburg [JNB] – Under $700 from San Francisco
Mumbai [BOM] – Under $600 from San Francisco
Abu Dhahi [AUH] – $187 – $465 for all the listed cities.
We did a bunch of dates in February and availability was easy to find. These are not searchable on ITA, so let’s crowd source this.
Update 12/25/2014 @ 1:00AM Eastern – Availability so far: Late January – May, September – November. Stick to Monday – Thursday departures for best price.
Update 12/25/2015 @ 2:05AM Eastern – Availability to cities like Hong Kong, Manila etc per the comments starting around $270 from New York. Availability for Hong Kong seems to be available in the Fall. We did not find anything in the Spring.

Up In The Air / China Southern Airlines vc. Cathay Pacific
« on: December 08, 2014, 11:36:27 AM »
Has anyone had experience flying China Southern Airlines in Premium Economy.

I know haters will hate about my preference to fly PE, I enjoy the extra leg room I am heavy set guy.

I have two flight options, either NYC to CAN via HKG on Cathay or I can flight direct from NYC to CAN nonstop on China Southern Airlines.

I usually fly to either CAN or HKG with PE on Cathay so I wonder if China Southern Airlines will live up to Cathays PE.

Your thought?!

Up In The Air / Travel Agents out there....
« on: May 22, 2014, 05:47:47 PM »
I was wondering if you can be help liable/responsible financially or otherwise for issuing a ticket with missing taxes/fuel/surcharges?

I am asking after speaking with a veteran travel agent who I am close with and she thinks and swears that if she issues a ticket in a glitch scenario she will be (insert some weird travel agent term for a charge back) right out of her account.

In essence can you get back lash for it?

Up In The Air / Glitch tickets storm related change
« on: February 11, 2014, 07:34:01 PM »
We bought some tickets during the united ewr to tlv glitch.

The flight is set for Thursday at 3pm the issue we are having is the united will not allow us to rebook the tickets even though there is a weather waiver active for the date of travel. They want us to deal with wide to which claims they will not be able to change the ticket because yq was not added and now with any change they need to charge for yq on any other ticket they issue us.

Can anyone guide us if there is a certain thing we need to say or approach it in such a way that will be advantageous.

Let me know all help is appreciated.

Goods For Sale/Trade / PICK UP FOR FREE - 3 Drawer + Sliding shelf cabinet
« on: December 23, 2013, 03:30:03 PM »
I am located in Brooklyn, the cabinet has served us well as a tv stand, toy chesty, and for clothes as well.

The drawers open and close but need a little adjustment to make sure they stay on there slide, it has scratches and dents but overall its in good shape. We are located on the  second floor and it needs to be carried down the stairs. Its heavy, it built really well, not junky IKEA quality.

I do not want to sell I would rather give it away to someone who needs it and will use it. Do not PM me if your gonna sell it afterwards. I will post on CL if no one wants it here let me know.

Pictures to follow tonight its about 30" high, 66" long, and 22" deep

Up In The Air / XXX-TLV-YYZ - How many did you book?
« on: August 29, 2013, 12:52:53 PM »
The purpose of the poll is to quantify the amount of potential tickets purchased and kept/used/using during the time the deal was running.

Just wondering the effect of this "glitch", "price mistaken" "fuel dump" or what ever other word you can use to explain these fairs.

My guess is its in the 1000's and we shall see at the end of this poll!

Up In The Air / Concept: Suprise Me
« on: June 24, 2013, 04:12:42 PM »
Does anyone know of a way to search for flights originating from X airport on any given date?

So basically I want to fly out on July 20th from EWR to anywhere within a 3 hour or 4 hour or 5 hour flight. Without tediously search each and every airport. THe option to limit time the flight leaves would be great to.

Do you guys think there is such a product out there? Or a need for such a product?

I am looking to have a limo pick up my wife and I from Brooklyn and take us to Prudential Center for a concert. I have been getting quotes of 400 each way, which is over budget. Any suggestions would be greatful! Maybe a helicopter ride or something out of the ordinary? Its out 5 year anniversary!

Possible a thinking of doing a flight that night out of Newark airport ot a fun destination for two nights and then back?

Any ideas would be great!

Our requirements are laundry, renovated kitchen and bathroom(s).
Sorry no original condition bathrooms or kitchen. My wife likes newer updated things better.

Upto $2500 if its higher let me know. PM me info thanks!

Prefer to rent by owner to save broker fee!

Deals/Deal Requests / Rental car general question.
« on: March 10, 2013, 07:21:25 PM »
Has anyone attempted to rent through a european site for a unites states rental?

Ok I realize that might be a confusing way of asking a question. So the scenario is family is having a eveny in Florida and we are flying down the rental rates are averaging 60 a day for the time we are going if I was looking at Hertz direct or However someone gave me an idea to check for the same dates the dates given to me on the UK site were $26 a day when converted from pounds to USD. Are there any issues with using an UK site to book a USA rental. I am a us citizen but my wife isnt so maybe I could use her passport but are they looking for stamps?

Also the UK site says they even include insurance at that rate: "Supplier Special Rate includes insurance. Car taxes and fees included."

General Discussion / Cancelling El-Al ticket to late?
« on: December 20, 2012, 03:58:15 PM »
I booked back in August with the price mistake using Expedia and I purchased insurance on the tickets through Expedia. After making the change to my ticket to fly direct, El-Al refuses to cancel with out a $250 penalty and me forgoing the 75 charge each way! Expedia told me it up to the airlines to allow me to cancel. Is this an insurance thing I should take up with them? And why the hell does Expedia employ call centers that speak Spanish better then English?!?! Quite frustrating!

Do I have to file a claim with there insurance company?

Furthermore I have two separate bookings for the same flight, one booking is for the family and one is for me personally and I would not want to jepordize my personal booking, because I decided to fly alone.

Any input would be great!

--BerkleyCare: will only cancel with a doctors note.
