Looking to sell two of these

Will accept cost price ($260) or best offer

Last Chance: We are looking for people who lost land in Warsaw during the Holocaust to make a claim before the time expires NEXT MONTH.

If you have any family, or anyone in your community from Poland, ask them if their family had land before the war. If they may have, please help them get in touch with us and you can earn a substantial commission simply for providing the lead. It will be the easiest money you've ever made. A half dozen people have already received more than $10,000 for referrals they sent us in the last few years.

Please PM me with any leads.

The Canadian Mint is selling 5 loonies for 5 dollars with free shipping

The catch: Limit one set per order

You can make multiple orders but have to use a different email each time. You can Checkout as a guest but you have to modify your email. If you have Gmail this is easy since you can put and then and berels.hmerel, etc etc...

If you find a way to make this useful, do share

Up In The Air / Flying during pregnancy
« on: October 14, 2015, 09:14:07 PM »
I'm looking for some anecdotal non-scientific evidence about flying while pregnant.

Has anyone here (or their wives) done it? At what stage in the pregnancy? Did it have any effect on the fetus? (i.e. if you flew with one child while pregnant but not your other children, do you notice any difference that could be related to the radiation you're exposed to in the air)

General Discussion / DDF Calendar
« on: September 12, 2015, 10:04:49 PM »
A lot of Dan's posts on the main page contain dates on which specific churning-related events, deadlines etc are to take place.

For example, Dan often writes about signup bonuses coming to an end, or deadline to add a certain feature to your card, deadlines to book on certain airlines, routes ending etc...

Why doesn't someone (Dan should, but he currently doesn't) compile all of these dates in to a shareable Google Calendar for the community's convenience? To make it worth your while, you can sell ads on various days for advertisers ("Sale at Yankel's Bakery today!")

Whoever wants to claim this project just say "Aye"

General Discussion / DDF Podcast
« on: August 24, 2015, 12:37:36 AM »
I had an idea recently for a very entertaining, informative and helpful podcast: a weekly "DDF Podcast", which would feature intelligent discussions about the highlights (and lowlights) of the past week's action on DDF.

It would be hosted by two avid DDFers who spent considerable on DDF each day, can talk smoothly, interestingly and know how to put together good content for a show.

It would be relatively simple to produce, require a few hours of time investment a week (on top of the time taken for reading through DDF which they're doing anyway), and has a captive audience of thousands already built in. I think hundreds if not thousands of people would listen to the podcast on their commute, or at night, etc.

I was thinking of doing this myself with a partner, but I realized we don't spend nearly enough time absorbing the various discussions happening on the forums, and that it would be much better suited with someone who does and more especially if they have previous recording experience.

Who thinks this is a good idea and who wants to take up this challenge?

Up In The Air / Flying to Israel on 85,000 MR Points
« on: August 12, 2015, 11:43:34 AM »
I've got 85,000 MR points.

Does anyone have any advice on how I can use them to get to Israel for Sukkot 2015?

I've already considered converting them to Avios and flying Air Berlin to Israel but there are no award tickets opened. There are so many options so I figured I'd post it here in case anyone can give me any leads and help narrow my search.

Deals/Deal Requests / Best value on boxer shorts?
« on: June 23, 2015, 11:55:35 AM »
Boxer shorts are relatively expensive. For the price of a decent pair of boxers at a typical retailer, you can buy at least two good tshirts.

Anyone have any suggestions on where to get the best value (price to quality ratio) on boxer shorts?

General Discussion / Forgotten Social Security Number
« on: March 30, 2015, 03:42:46 PM »
Hey DDFers,

My wife is American but hasn't lived there and hasn't used her Social Security number since she was a kid. Her parents don't remember it and she never knew it.

What's the quickest and easiest way to recover it in your experience?

General Discussion / New DansDeals Forums
« on: February 24, 2015, 06:22:03 AM »
The 1990s called and they want their forum platforms back. They will ruthlessly seize all discussion systems and remove them from the 2010s.

Clearly this will affect DDF.

With so many great new platforms out there, which should we choose?

Personally, I'm really impressed with Discourse, built by Jeff Atwood and team, and I would highly recommend it as the basis for a new DDF.

What do others think?

Up In The Air / Montreal to Tel Aviv RT for $820, Nov-Dec 2014
« on: October 21, 2014, 11:53:45 AM »
FWIMC There are some great deals to Israel out of Montreal.

Random example: November 16 - December 3rd for $820 and on Delta or KLM, NOT Russian or Turkish Airlines.

Oh and that's $820 in CANADIAN DOLLARS (about $730 in US dollars!!)

Up In The Air / Bringing ice through airport security
« on: August 25, 2014, 05:21:27 PM »
I was thinking, the TSA prohibits liquids in quantities of more than 100ml from going through security. But what about liquids frozen solid?

Turns out that someone already thought of this and wrote about it here

It makes perfect sense. Ice is a solid.
It is such a pain when they throw away your drinks at security. Simple solution apparently is to freeze them and keep them well insulated until after security. I will be trying this on our next US flight which is in a couple of weeks.
