COVID-19 Discussion Board / Remote Work - Is This The Future?
« on: May 13, 2020, 10:57:58 AM »
Can't believe I haven't seen a thread about this.

Now that millions of people are working from home some companies are saying that it's not such a bad idea. The companies are saving on rent so as long as the work is productive, why not?

Twitter has already announced that they will allow their workers to work from home forever.

Shares of companies like SLG (commercial / offices landlords) are down substantially.

Some analysts are saying that NYC office buildings may find it self with skyrocketing vacancies.

Is this the future? Or will things go back to usual once covid is over?

Has anyone here who had Covid-19 seen this by their kids?

My kids developed weird rashes.

COVID-19 Discussion Board / Amazon Shipping Speed
« on: April 05, 2020, 11:11:41 AM »
I ordered some essential stuff last week and it says arriving April 21. I was hoping when I ordered last week that they are just writing a late date but it will actually ship sooner however it still didn't update anything.

Is there anything to do? Does calling / chatting help?

Can you share experience? How does it work upon arrival?  Can you go for a day or has to be 14 days?  What's the official fines for violating?

Up In The Air / FCO Customs Denying Entry For Boy On Route To TLV
« on: May 07, 2019, 02:29:20 PM »
Friend of mine just called me.

His sun is on way back to yeshiva from NY. He booked a ticket with a stop in Rome. When he entered Rome they said that one of the stamps on his passport (from Poland I believe) was scribbled on and they consider it a forged document so they wont let him enter Rome, and they wont even let him continue flying to Israel, they wanna send him back to the US.

Does anyone have any sort of advice here?

They oversell almost every flight. Since most of us here fly mileage tickets which they bump first, I'm sure there are many other victims around here.

Here's the deal, we know airlines overbook all the time for many reasons, still, most airlines don't oversell business class. Even if and when they do, they ALL compensate for it.

Elal on the other hand besides regularly overbooking biz class, they don't even bother compensating, and to make things worse, they don't even bother asking other pax to volunteer.

My 75 year old grandmother was checked in with a seat assignment yesterday on LY27, when she got to the check in counter she was told she is bumped to economy. She had a Z class double miles award ticket, I guess she was first on the list because of that, so I quickly issued her a new Z class revenue ticket for $3300. In this case there were a dozen other people issued in the cheaper J class bucket who should've been bumped before her. Still no dice. The agent was rude and offered no compensation. He said she can get back difference in fare. Nice of her....

What you guys think? Is this fair from elal? Any compensation required by law?
