Deals/Deal Requests / American PHL-LAX (direct) $55 each way
« on: October 20, 2020, 10:17:07 AM »
seeing lots of avalability starting next week. Bookable on priceline

NJ recently rolled out the Lost Wage Assistance (LWA) benefit, which will provide $300/week to anyone  who was unemployed or partially unemployed due to COVID-19 and was eligible for at least $100 in weekly unemployment benefits. The extra $300 will be paid for the 6-week period between the week ending 8/1/20, and the week ending 9/5/20. The maximum benefit is $1,800 (6 weeks x $300). The money will be paid in a single, lump-sum payment during the week of October 19th.
Many claimants eligible for LWA do not need to do anything to get those benefits. Only claimants who have not yet certified that their unemployment is COVID-related must do so now. If you were unemployed due to COVID and you did not yet certify that your claim is COVID-related, you need to attest that your unemployment is COVID-related in the Check Claim Status part of your application by checking the appropriate box in the "Self-Service Options" section. You can access the certification portal here: You must certify for benefit before 5pm on Friday, October 16, 2020.

Is there a master thread for which credit cards still offer insurance, if the insurance is primary, and if it covers in Israel. Would be great if there was a wiki that everyone can help fill in the info

I applied and waited over month and a half, and website still did not show the application to be processing. A friend gave me a contact in my local senator's office. I emailed the guy, he responded that day. Less than a week later, I have the passport!

Up In The Air / Re: TSA Precheck
« on: August 19, 2020, 06:30:51 PM »
So I booked a flight for Myself, DW and 2 kids. Paid for seats for all, and put my KTN in. We're all on one reservation, but for some reason only myself and one kid got precheck. Anyone have this happen before?
Recently booked a UA ticket using Lifemiles. Had same issue that 2 out of 4 passengers the precheck did not show on boarding pass. Called United, and for some reason, 2 of the tickets were ticketed with a middle initial. I definitely did not give Lifemiles any middle initial. Once the name doesn't match exactly to the known traveler info, the tsa precheck will not work. United unchecked us in, then fixed the names on those 2 tix, and then we checked in again and we got tsa precheck

BE doesn't allow online check-in unless you prepurchase a  checked bag.
Someone posted on DDF a hack. When checking in online, click that you will be checking in a stroller (which is free to check in). You will then be able to check in online.

General Discussion / Re: Optimum internet

In Lakewood. Service down, though interestingly it worked fine last night.
If you have a battery pack (car charger), and a small car power inverter ($15-$20), you can power the modem and router through that, and use the internet even if the whole house doesn't have electricity. Mine had enough power for my OBI and cordless phone, so those worked too (and also to charge the laptop)

not a deal thats the starting price
True. I guess I put it in the wrong section. But it is a relatively cheap price for a new phone with a superb camera

HUCA. Might need to call a few times. Their phone reps are terrible. Many do not know hoe to search for Star Alliance awards...

I was asking why don't you buy a few tickets in your name with your mileageplus number from your family member's accounts (each paid with the $100 travbank credit), then cancel all the the tickets, and all the vouchers will be in your account.
Is travelbank funds better than having a few electronic vouchers $100 ea in one account? (I guess the expiration is better - travelbank funds expire in 2025)

I'd rather than travelbank funds be in one account.
After you fund $100 to a family member's account, you can buy a $100 UA ticket, enter your mileage info in the reservation, then cancel the reservation and the Elec voucher will be in your account
