Up In The Air / Re: Star Alliance Award Search Tips
« on: January 28, 2020, 12:53:38 PM »
Dan posted the new United status system that United gives miles as well as status with partner airlines I have a question I hope someone can help me with. A UA rt flight from Toronto to TLV gets me 650 PQP's. However, if I reserve an Air Canada flight on the United website I'd get 1158 PQP's. That's almost double. My question is being that I usually buy my airline tickets with either Amex or Chase points, do you think I can get the Air Canada flight and still get my PQP'S? I'd love to hold on to my 1K status for 2021. Thanks.

Credit Cards And Finance / Re: Chase Sapphire Reserve
« on: January 02, 2020, 04:54:16 PM »
Hi,
I have both a Sapphire Reserve and an Amex platinum card, and I always saw, based on Dan's quinfecta model, that the Reserve was the better choice because there is a 50% break on the price, whereas the Amex only has a 35% refund on points. However, I've found that Amex consistently has better point value than Chase (besides that Amex Travel at times has better deals than the standard published fares). Am I doing something wrong?
I'm booking a flight from EWR to LAS, which costs $366.80
Chase reserve will give me that ticket for 24,453 MR points
Amex will give it to me for 36,680 points but with the 35% refund of 12,838, my final Amex point cost will be 23,842.
I have found this to be consistent with flights to Israel, Australia, etc.with much bigger savings. Am I doing something wrong?
Thanks!

+1 ye the first 28 free parking spots are good..
they were okay nice there and this is the best weather now, good near-beach location and view,
don't you find the pool not so great and the rooms sort of old/worn looking?
Im not a big hotel person, only been to handful in the last 10 years, the hotel seems fine to me, did not hang out by the pool really, went straight to the beach. The staff here was great, we got upgraded, and some really great treatment. Are you thinking of coming here?

General Discussion / Re: So I'm thinking about buying a bicycle...
« on: May 23, 2013, 09:31:07 PM »
Was biking early sunday morning (training for my upcoming bike 4 chai ride)right after the rain, we were going over a bridge made of metal grates right after the rain, my back tire slipped and gave out, I had my shoes clipped into my pedals so was unable to get my feet out. My head landed on the bridge and the cement road barrier. Thankfully the only thing I sufferd on my body was 13 stitches I gashed my knee, all the way down to the bone.
I hope to be training again sunday morning.

Not sure what you're referring too, but 3 letters just won't do.

Here's a couple of things they are biased about:

1. Hikind
2. Rav Shteinman (vs. R Shmuel Orbach)
3. Misaskim (vs. Chessed Shel Emes)
4. Hatzolah  of Passaic(no phone number listed)

If you truly believe that Jews are to be held to a higher standard then you should be with AJK on this one. IHMO this case only highlights that when it comes to money there is no higher standard.
