Actually they do.
Not really, legally speaking they only need to give a reason which can be extremely vague, like “misuse” “abuse” “not used as intended” or “credit risk”.

It still does not justify them for not explaining or allowing explanations before closures.
I’ve been on the receiving end of shutdowns from banks and other businesses over the years. While it sucks, this is America, nobody can force them to do business with you. They don’t need to “justify” shutting anybody down.

When Lampert first got into Sears (and then KMart) he was hailed as a genius for the Real Estate play.

Obviously that was before 2008 came along.

I just caught the tail end (literally last sentence) of a Bloomberg radio piece where someone was discussing SHLD, and he said something about Lampert doing something right to extract value. I can't comment on anything as I didn't hear the full piece, but if someone finds it posted online would be interesting to listen to.

The saga continues:

I didn't read any of these articles yet, but this reminds me of Mcdonalds.
It isn't about the burgers, it's the real estate under them.

I have a few thousand hertz points expiring soon, does anyone know if booking a rental using points and canceling it will extend them? TIA

Anyone know if the "Teva" meat they sell in Costco is "OU Glatt" and weather it's local or imported?
I asked this in a kashrus thread recently.
It’s imported grass fed meat. I had a brisket recently that was pretty tough so regardless of the kashrus status I wouldn’t recommend it, especially as it’s not that much cheaper than buying from a regular grocery.

Yup, very sad: https://www.dansdeals.com/points-travel/hyatt/hyatt-2019-annual-category-changes-lock-lower-rates-anniversary-nights-hotels-getting-expensive-now/

Got one last 5K trip (less a 1.5K Q2 rebate!) to take my kids to the pool on chol hamoed.
I stayed there before Pesach but the pool doesn’t seem to be heated and they don’t have a hot tub. Great location though.

Card issues make their money primarily from interest and the interchange fee. It's the "losers" who pay these high interest fees who are paying for our First class flights and 5 Star hotels.
