Are you traveling with kids?

Grand Hyatt is closer to the airport, a newer property with great pools and beautiful casino. Beach was a bit disappointing - but all the non-motorized water activities (kayak, stand up paddle board, snorkels, etc.) are included in the resort fee.

Atlantis has the benefit of a nicer beach, water park, but is crowded and the rooms are older/tired (see all the comments up thread regarding the various towers) and everything has a cost (aside from the two free bottles of water you get when you check in).

The waterpark is a huge plus if you have kids that meet the height limit. Not so much fun when some kids meet the height requirement and others don't.

Thanks!! Not traveling with kids. Decided on Hyatt, though I really hope the beach isnít too disappointing. Did you bring food to the Hyatt to warm up? How are they in that regard?

I used Grand and Essex to cater my last trip. The food was phenomenal, the portions generous, and way cheaper than POM.
What did you order?

Hyatt Ziva Cancun
Three people (16yo counts as adult).
37.5k/night
(Had to call)

Some buyerís remorse...wondering if I should switch to IC for ~ 1/3 the price.
Just make sure that they won't give you a problem with 16yo. I just booked there and they told me very clearly that if were under 18 we won't be allowed.

Would very much appreciate the group's help with the following questions:
1) Would DW and I be able to rely on the free shabbat meals at Chabad (and make a donation) or is it not substantial enough? I've heard conflicting stories from a few friends that they left pretty hungry
2) Is there a specific tour to check out the small islands (i.e. Murano) or just book a ferry and do on our own?
3) Is it a bad idea to fly out early Monday morning Venice to Rome to catch my Rome to NY flight? Would leave myself ~2 hours between the flights

Thanks all!
We bought a ton of food from Gam Gam before Shabbos but ended up having enough from the free meal at Chabad so didn't need it.

Anyone stay in the HT6 recently that can give a review? Going to Rome for 2 nights and was trying to decide between there and the SR
Stayed there recently. Loved it. Room, ambiance and customer service was amazing. Location can't be better.

I'll never understand the point of having to be being super close to food in VCE.
The whole point of VCE is to walk around and explore the place. Who cares if you have to have the prettiest shabbos walk ever?
There's a big difference between walking aimlessly, enjoying the atmosphere, and having to walk to get where you need to.

FYI - Just received this email from Rabbi Weinstein (Chabad in Newtown)

"World of Falafel has chosen not to remain kosher. Their last day as a kosher establishment is this Sunday, December 3. Please share this message so everyone knows.

Papillon Cafe just received their permit and will be opening this Sunday as a Cholov Yisroel, Pas Yisroel Kosher Dairy Cafe and Bakery. They are located at 254 N Sycamore Street in Newtown. 818.770.4773
They are under the Keystone K kosher certification."
Just received notification from the Keystone K that this establishment is not yet under their supervision (or any supervision for that matter), though they are in midst of discussions with management about it and hope to have it certified shortly.
Will update when it's clarified.

Anyone have first hand reviews of Carnival Hotel? I've stayed in the Westin twice. How do they compare?

Secondly, Has anyone been to Verona, Padua or Vicenza? Anything to see? Any Jewish sites?
Havenít been to the Westin but stayed at Carnival this summer and loved it. Very nice hotel with great location. Loved the fact that it was much closer than the Westin.

At Bar Toto and the guy says his iced tea isn't kosher and it doesn't have a hechsher. Does it need a hechsher for plain iced tea?

Must have been over 30 people at a 9:30 minyan at Agudah Achim. Pretty sure they were trying to get a 10:15 minyan going as well.
Are there never Mishulachim collecting by davening?
