Barnea has a really nice outdoor set up inside a "succah". Fully covered and with heaters. Great experience if you are not comfortable eating indoors. Highly recommend.

Anyone else seeing that most codes are now "delivery only"? No longer able to take advantage of the no-fee pick up option. The savings basically cover the delivery and fees.

That's where you will want to use a shuttle. Though, you can technically walk (iirc)... Anyways, not a big deal, you're on vacation, take it slow and easy, unless you have a flight to catch.

FLL Car Rental Center is connected via sky-bridge to Terminal 1. You can walk outside from terminal 3 to terminal 1 and then entire terminal 1 to take the sky-bridge across. Depending on how much luggage you have, the shuttle is likely fastest.

Anyone knows if The Westin Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort is a good shabbos friendly hotel? Any shul walking distance? Anyone been there lately? Some said it's mediocre few years ago. TY

Fort Lauderdale beach is significantly limited with nearby kosher food and minyanim versus Miami Beach, Surfside and Sunny Isles.

What rating would you give to a place that makes you wait 15-20 minutes for a table AND makes you wait another 15-20 minutes after being seated for anyone to give you a glance, much less even offer you some bread? Even the water guy probably took 10 minutes. Makes you wait over an hour for the main. Was time crunched and left before the dessert. I didn't see the olive oil cake on the menu btw.
I did not leave a tip, which might be a first for me.
They expanded next door and have lots of seating outside and were packed. IMHO, the food also declined to some degree. Only pro is due to covid, the seating isn't very crowded inside.

I don't want to leave a review on the review sites, because I don't want to hurt him. I hope someone who knows him, shows him this review.

In case anyone thinks I might be biased. Go back and look at my prior reviews of this place. I was raving about it. I used to rank it just above RC and MB.

I don't own a restaurant, but can't imagine what the economics looks like in a COVID environment when you are capped at 25% occupancy, especially one of the higher end restaurants in Manhattan that likely rely on expense accounts like business meetings and larger groups. While on the one hand it isn't unreasonable to expect the same level of service given the price likely hasn't changed, I am not sure that it is totally fair to compare your pre-covid experience to current environment. I think we all need to loosen our standards a bit or else these amazing restaurants likely won't survive.

Going to Chicago for a one night stay and looking to stay in the nicest possible hotel. Trying to decide between The Langham, The Peninsula and the Waldorf. I have Hilton Gold status so should be able to upgrade at the Waldorf. Thoughts?

I also was thinking of booking through Amex's "Fine Hotels and Resorts" since I have the Platinum card, but I was wondering whether any one has had success in getting any of these places to get a Kosher breakfast or order Kosher food using the $100 hotel credit (and if so, where they got the food from)?

I appreciate any advice!

Hard to answer given that all are likely operating in some kind of reduced service/amenities given COVID-19. In the past, I found the Langham to be the nicest, but haven't stayed at the Peninsula post renovation.

How do you order from a liquor store? And is there a code?

It is in the app and applies for liquor stores. Note that you can pick up to save on the delivery fee and tip, but looks like most kosher liquor stores are not on the app and the prices for those that are on the app are higher than they typical prices you will pay so even with the savings, the net savings isn't that great.

I did last year just a tarp (as tight as possible) but no slant and the water built up, when I came home after a day of rain there was a 2ft deep puddle of water which I had to shovel out.
My neighbor did the same thing but did not come home on time... his whole 2x4s and Schach snapped in half and broke some panels. he had to redo the whole Sukkah!
That's why I don't want a redo of that I want to a little more professional is the pully/tarp/pvc on slanted 2x4 a very big job?

You will need a pitch - ideally the schach will also be slanted so that the tarp lies on the pitched schach otherwise the pooling will occur.
