Train now goes directly to Savidor stop, no stop at airport, this is two stops before Herzeliya. They are saying by sukkos will go all the way.
My understanding is also there are now some minyanim in the morning jlm-tlv

Trying to figure out if it pays for me to buy a star alliance award upgrade with a3, can someone tell me what the fees would be on a flight JFK-GVA?
I can't see since I am bit short on points and would need to buy them to get the full picture. TIA

FYI: all trains from 6:33-9:03 have a daily minyan for shachris at the second car to the back. (This is great if you are heading to the airport).
The 8:03 has a Seder Torah as well.
There are also some trains in the opposite direction with mincha/maariv depending on the season/times, same location. (There is a WhatsApp group if anyone is interested)

As a data point: We fit a pack and play and two of my older kids (3,4) slept on blankets on the floor. So we fit 5 in one room. Cant say we fit comfortably because the mattresses were horrible and there is a flashing red light on the ceiling, but the size was manageable.
Dp - Had one room with a packnplay was fine, they didnt seem to mind me bringing it in. Second room used inflateable mattress for kid (5) was also fine.

DP:
On checkin had a long argument with rep who wanted to charge me VAT as an Israeli citizen on a points stay since in the system it shows that there is some trnasaction with Wyndham, long story short I didnt sign anything about paying and they checked me in, on checkout a different rep said there is no charge because its a points stay. Was aggravating even without the charge.

Was it enforced, or did you just not have their breakfast?
(We have stayed there twice, most recently last November, and very much enjoyed the brekkie.)
I looked on my way to davening at the list for breakfast and was not on it so if someone had actually been there then it would be enforced (I wasnt going to go anyways)

What room did you have?

Up In The Air / Re: Radiation on flights
« on: August 20, 2019, 10:06:41 AM »
It's of no consequence. A flight from NY to LA is the same radiation as eating 400 bananas.

https://xkcd.com/radiation/
That does not seem to be what this paper says:

Up In The Air / Radiation on flights
« on: August 19, 2019, 11:37:31 PM »
Saw this snippet in a periodical I subscribe to where it quotes some studies/talks that flights have the same level of exposure to radiation as a number of x-rays, while not dangerous as a one off, I am curious if people have heard of this or factor this in to frequent flying. Here is a pic with refrences:
