Anyone selling Marriott travel credit or discounted GC? Or is there a separate thread for that?

Aspire is not relevant. WA Maldives does not count anymore for aspire.
Worked for me during our stay in November...

No one has tried renting their own boat? I know people talked about it, but has anyone tried?
Apparently they wonít allow a 3rd party transfer.

So... for two people for dinner, spend $50 on POM meals then $125 more on "meal prep." $175 a day for dinner.

Doesn't look like WA is in our future.
Always best to bring a roll of foil on these trips. When you want to heat up meals ask them to bring out the cooler. Wrap how ever many meals you want to heat up (usually 2-3) into one big ďmealĒ and have them heat that up for one charge.

Or just store in a polar bear bag and bypass the questions of how you'll heat the food up.
They didnít ask me any questions. I stored the polar bear bag in their freezer and took out meals when needed and heated it up in my toaster oven. When not in use the toaster oven was hid in my suitcase :).

Great TR.
Seems like if you prioritize snorkeling, the W is definitely the way to go.

Still want to hear more about SR vs WA. The butler sending us fruit baskets multiple times a day at the SR was amazing.
Will post last part soon but the snorkeling gets better in the second half of my trip. Lots of reef sharks and rays. Donít know much about the W snorkeling though. But, yes, the constant fruit baskets were missed at the WA.

Question about your toaster:

Were you able to plug it straight into the outlet in your room or did you still need to use one of those plug converters?

What's the difference between the one you got and this one? I know its only $5 difference but I'm just wondering.

Yes I was able to plug is straight in. I guess that wasnít available when I was looking. Looks similar to me.

That's going to be a big problem for kosher travelers.

Amazing! Did you book?
Curious if itís a MLE restriction or just a hotel restriction. I asked him to find out. Will update when I hear more.

I heard something about Maldives restricting food on arrival due to Covid. Did anyone hear of such a thing? Wasn't able to find anything about it online.
Find anything else about this? Just had a friend tell me that the W MLE told them they wonít allow any outside food in.

Nice!

What did you do about everything there being so high tech and electronic and using sensors? STR has plenty issues with all that stuff but we were able to manage it. From what I'm reading about WA it seems its way more high tech as its much newer so I was wondering about how you managed to get around it.

Because if someone wants to book 5 nights with points to get 5th night free I don't see how its possible to do that coming from the USA without staying for a Shabbos.

Did you do a trip report? If yes, would love to read.
Very manageable. We left on glass doors unlocked and would go in and out through there anytime we needed to instead of using the main door. Besides for that didnít really run into any other issues. Feel free to ask more questions and Iíd be happy to answer. Have a recent TR as well but not sure I spoke a lot about Shabbat.

Nice!

I'm trying to pencil in a stay there in 2021 but i can hardly find more than 3 back to back nights at basic redemption.

How do you guys book? Do you first grab what's available and then hope that more nights will open closer to time?

I booked around a month before my stay and had no issues finding 5 nights available. I guess I got lucky!

Thanks.
In which hotels did you end up staying?

On main island it was Avani resort and on La digue it was "Le Relax Luxury Lodge" which I highly recommend avoiding. Pictures made it look nice and it was anything but that.
