COVID-19 / Wuhan Novel Coronavirus Discussion / Re: Entry to Israel
« on: April 21, 2020, 08:22:57 AM »
https://chaimvchessed.com/foreign-resident-of-israel-seeking-to-return/

Many foreign citizens who reside in Israel are currently located in chutz laaretz, and wish to return to Israel. As the situation stands today, foreigners are barred from entering Israel. Renting an apartment and paying arnona, having a student visa, or holding Bituach Leumi are NOT sufficient grounds for entering Israel.

(If some family members are Israeli citizens, click here.)

There is no way to know when the restrictions will be lifted. There is no indication that this will be happening soon; in fact, it may take weeks, or perhaps months. Remember that this is a tremendously dynamic situation. Literally, one cannot know what tomorrow will bring, let alone what will be in a few weeks.

The very few exceptions to this rule are some instances where one can prove that their entire family is in Israel, while they are stuck abroad. Even in this scenario, it is not always possible to receive an entry permit.

Furthermore, all persons arriving in Israel (Israeli or foreigners), are to be taken to quarantine in government run hotels. The details of this program are constantly changing, but it is mandatory. At the same time, implementation has been sporadic; not all arriving passengers have been sent to these hotels.

Please note: Foreign citizens are able to submit a request for permission to enter Israel (similar to the process described here for relatives of Israelis). However, the current policy is to refuse requests from student visa holders.

Hi,
I have a question. I was approved 3 months and 4 days ago, but my cc was frozen for about 2 weeks in the first month because of fraud. I didn't meet the bonus yet; is there anything I can do? Anything I can tell them? Thank you!

I ordered something from a Chinese website to Israel 2 months ago and it still hasn't arrived. The shipping info says it is still in the location where it was shipped from and hasn't been updated in weeks. I contacted the company and refused to refund me/ send another one out since the item has been shipped already. Do I have any protection with amex for this/ can I dispute the charge on my amex bill?

I booked a flight from Boston to Israel with elal. The itinerary is Boston - Jfk- Israel. The flight from Boston is elal through jet blue. Am I able to not take the jetblue flight and just take the elal flight? Or by missing the jetblue flight elal will give my ticket away.

Credit Cards / Re: Rumored Chase Points Valuation Changes

I mean this could also be a very beneficial ratio if it work the other way around. For example I spend 10k on travel with the Sapphire reserve. That's 30k points. I then transfer it over to the freedom, that would be 45k points. I then would transfer that over to a travel partner. If I would have done 10k spend of travel on the freedom unlimited I would only have 15k points to transfer over.  So I could take advantage of this in terms of transferring over to travel partners, assuming those ratios will remain the same.
