My apologies for the dumb question, but if I were to make a purchase over $100 using a combo of the Platinum and Best Buy gift cards, the offer should redeem okay?  (Just a little paranoid that the charge will be processed differently and mess up the redemption...)  In other words, will the charge still be processed as a standard Best Buy charge for all intents and purposes?  Obviously the amount charged to the card will be above $100...

Don't see why that would impact the charge.

i have a southwest card and the annual fee is approaching soon. i dont want to pay it bec its not worth it for me to keep the card open. i tried selling the points but was told by a very honest miles guy that i shouldnt sell them now bec its worth much less due to covid but i should wait. on the issue of the card fee this guy claims i can shut down the card and sell the points at a later date. does anyone know if thats true? that i could not have any active southwest cards but still have a rapid rewards account and sell my points in a yr or two???

It is true. I do not know about selling, but I can't see why it would make a difference.

thanks for the response, this was helpful! wasn't impatient, just wanted to make sure that the longer wait wasn't indicative of issues on my part, or overuse of the RP, since i filed a few times the past year.

Safer not to use PayPal when trying to get Amex Offer. And i too can vouch that sharabob's gift cards trigger the credit.

Hey looking for some advice as I've been out of the game for the past couple of years..

I currently have a Bonvoy personal & business card, and a Citi thank you card. I'm looking to open up as many new cards as possible now to take advantage of whatever offers are out there now.

What's most valuable now, and what cards should I open first?

I would say if you are eligible to receive the bonus then you should apply for the Amex Consumer Plat 100k offer with 10x points on grocery and gas spending.
