Paying even a $1 premium over whatever fare you paid so that youre getting a better KSML is a fool's errand. Why would that ever matter. No KSML is worth paying up for, ever.
And the TLV-JFK part, that was ok with you?

Up In The Air / Re: Which Flight Should I Take?
« on: Today at 09:03:21 AM »
Need to go from TLV-LON.
The ideal flight (BA on an A321) is completely sold out in J, so there is little to no chance of it opening for an award.
Right now I have RJ flight with a 2.45 connection in AMM, 787 for AMM-LHR.
Another option would be to make my entire itinerary F award (AA) and book a not so ideal timed F flight direct which would cost another 45k AA, which doesn't sound right to me.
The real question is if I should hope for that flight to open in J and switch to the that on a 777 with BA direct, as apposed to a RJ with a layover.

BA Pros:
Direct flight.
Get to try a new (horrible) product.
More ideal departure time.
(Use the BA arrival lounge in LHR)

RJ Pros:
4 more hours in London, 4PM-9AM.
Better product for most the trip.

How bad is J on the BA 777, is it worth considering it? Or be happy with RJ?

Lol. This is the revamp.

That was last year, wonder if this year is any diffrent.  ;)

Thanks though. Do you know what time he went?
They are adding more trains this year (not sure if this is new). I myself am considering doing it now :) thanks for the idea!

Yep. Nearly $600 YQ/departure tax. Hope to tack on a TLV-LHR leg to lower it to under $300, almost certainly won't ticket it otherwise.

Glad some people understand why it's special ;)
Added RJ for now. Taxes lowered to just over $300.
Should go down another $10 or so with the Jordanian fees removed if BA will open

Actually thinking about taking the train...
Interesting idea. It'll be a lot longer of a trip, but more comfortable.

Thanks
