Anyone have experience using MT 7 night cert as an additional guest in USM? Any risk of denied check in?
3rd party bookings in Asia are very risky. Iíve personally had issues in Thailand but it all depends on the hotel. Some might let it fly others wonít

What realistic room is best  at str Maldives? Sunset overwater?
Sunset is the best because itís on the outside part of the circle so you have the most privacy. If your confirmed in a owb They will usually upgrade you to a sunset if itís available.

How reliable is Waze (or Google Maps) in Dubai? I use TMobile, who told me that I'll have free unlimited data, but it will be 2g-3g. Any data points on if this should be adequate, or if I should download UAE maps to my Garmin Nuvi and take it? My itinerary also includes Al Maha, which is somewhat in the middle of nowhere, if that's relevant to coverage issues.
Waze is very reliable just be very careful with the speed limit as there a cameras about very mile or so.
Al Maha has great cell coverage.

Also, if anyone has done Ski Dubai, does the rental clothing they give you suffice to keep you warm while skiing, or should I plan to bring additional layers of my own? It feels weird to pack ski attire when the outdoor temperature is over 90, but if the stuff they give you isn't enough, then I'll bring my own so I can enjoy the experience.
The clothing they provide is very thin. I would suggest to bring a sweatshirt. Itís 24 degrees in there

A bit ridiculous in my opinion but the Ritz charges $25 each for a fridge and microwave per day in addition to there already steep resort fees at $85 a night. They also charge around $36 plus service per person per meal to heat up food.
Just say you need the fridge for medication and they will give it for free
