On The Road / Re: EZPass Newbie
« on: April 17, 2019, 10:23:25 AM »
Being that the cashless tolls are about to come into effect with the Outer Bridge, those that travel to lakewood often should add the commuter plan.

"The Port Authority NY/NJ Staten Island Bridges Plan (PASI) offers a 58% discount off the cash toll rate. The plan is available to vehicles with non-commercial plates and private E-ZPass accounts at E-ZPass New York or New Jersey. Enrollment is required. The Plan toll rate is $6.25 per trip (plus $9.50 for each additional axle beyond two axles) at the Bayonne Bridge, Goethals Bridge, or Outerbridge Crossing, provided at least three Staten Island-bound trips are made in a single calendar month that are not otherwise discounted by the Carpool or Green Pass Plan. If three trips are not taken, the customer pays the prevailing E-ZPass (peak or off-peak) rate. All E-ZPass tags on the account apply to the three trip minimum requirement. Plan Code: (PASI)"
Any reason not to enroll? (E-ZPass noob)

Credit Cards / Apple Pay ending p to p with cc

From the email “Ending support for sending money using credit cards
Starting on March 25, 2019, we will no longer support using credit cards to fund person to person payments. This will ensure Apple Pay Cash customers never have to worry about cash advance fees that may be charged by issuing banks. “

Up In The Air / Re: Virgin Atlantic to start LHR - TLV flights in Sept.
« on: February 11, 2019, 01:13:42 PM »
I'm thinking the same. As for a connection from the US, LHR has a few things going against it (size, cost, etc.), and the flight times seem far from ideal for connections. A 6am flight ex-TLV basically means you give up the night's sleep prior to the flight (hopefully to sleep during the flight), and a TLV arrival after 11pm (post 10/27) means you don't get to settle into bed at your destination anytime before midnight (at best).
most ex-tlv to EU are in the wee hours of the AM I was mainly questioning the economics  in terms of sending an a-330 with 31 j seats and cheap lcc competition

with prem fares (lie flat) on lon-tlv on a seemingly stagnant $1600 and the abundance of lcc i am wondering if this is a nationality push by the CEO rather than smart business move
