The mir of yesteryear also wasn't the mir of r' nochum's days.

Just lend out your CC. You make a lot more for less work. Wait I think that one has already been done.  :)
In general, high reward means high risk, or else you are missing something.
Since the reward here is not amazing, it's not hard for me to believe that the risk is minimal.
If you can point out a legitimate risk in this situation, I'm all ears. But irrelevant one liner's don't show on your intelligence.
Specifically, after one successful deal, the cumulative value of the tickets you've bought in your name will be much more than the amount they owe you for the single assignment.

The risk is very small and the work minimal. Reward not big enough for some, but I wouldn't call it stupid.
Between commission and points you make about $75-$100, for about 20 minutes work (max).

Check if you have Amex offer.
Does it get 2* to begin with?
If not Citi is just as good with no offer no?
Unless you split it into 2 purchases

Only the refferer gets a bonus, not the referred.
I think the referee is the buying group in this case.

Say what??
Is that even a coherent sentence?

You do realize how conceited and stuck up this sounds right?

I'm not a fan of bashing @churnbabychurn, he's entitled to his opinion.
But really, there was no need for this comment.

Since it sounded incoherent to you, a short explanation is due.

When there is a conflict between 2 value systems or values, and one has to choose between them, like Torah and science for example.

Chabad chassidus teaches that it's a conflict between reality and a mere perceived reality, and reality obviously wins.

And to spell it out a little clearer, Torah is the reality, and science (or thinking one needs college for his parnassa) is just a perceived reality.

On a practical daily level, this conflict happens all the time. Teffila bezibbur or being on time to work. Chassidus teaches that Torah and mitzvos are not just a priority, they are the only reality.

Just Shmooze / Re: Daylight "Saving" Time - Pro or Con

The article did not show causation.

Personally, I've been looking forward to switching the clock back ever since the fall.  I'd like DST year round, with an extra hour in the winter, maybe adjusted a few minutes per week instead of an hour in one shot.

The point of Daylight savings is to make more light when it's day - I.e when people are awake.
All year round DLS makes it dark until 7am+  you are borrowing from Peter to pay Paul.

Torah doesn't teach math or Financial Literacy, but you definitely need working knowledge of these subjects to understand any parts of Torah.
As such, even a school which doesn't want to teach "Choil" can include these important concepts as part of their Jewish studies.
(@ExGingi - this is similar but not exactly the same as heilike numerin, where you are using Torah as a platform for teaching math).

Parsha/Divrei Torah can be used as a platform to teach public speaking, how to say a Sicha at a Shabbos meal, etc.
A lot really depends on the teacher creativity and the student desire to learn life skills.

I got this offer in the mail. Terms seem pretty simple & straightforward. What's the catch??
Is it for regular checking or some premium account with high monthly fees?

Buy one of these for one or 2 days then do a regular rental for the week after you drop it off - if that works

I do one in my name and minivan in my wife's.
No need to cancel the second reservation.
