What went wrong?
I didn't notice that my transaction was posted after 1/1.

I'm fairly sure they denied only based on that, not the other reasons mentioned.

Anyone get else get denied recently? What's strange is that I've filed claims on items from this store in the past successfully.

The "explanation" they sent is also unhelpful. It lists 3 separate reasons: Amex card I used was ineligible, not charged entirely on the card and item was eligible for return. All can be easily proved to be incorrect, so the appeal should go smoothly but this still concerning since I have several more potential claims from the same store.
I can't edit my post, so just disregard. I know what went wrong.

Regarding the $1000 per year claim limit on each card account,

does that year go per purchase date or claim date
Goes per calender year
Okay, but which date goes by calendar year? If I made a purchase and the charge posted in December, but I made the claim in January, what calendar year does the claim fall under?

Or does it depend on what date you choose for "Date of Loss" in the claim process?

How does the "restocking fee" option work? I assume it covers returns that require paid shipping. Does Amex just cover the return shipping cost?
