Yes very possible.
The term expired is used when something ceases to be valid.

In the past you would be able to call before expiration to have them extended for a year. After the merger I have not seen reports of success doing this.

Your best bet would be calling and telling them you had a hard time using it because of the merger.

As said a court will almost always trust the officers, but if you were to have expert testimony it would create a scenario where some1 can actually prove the cop wrong and the judge will have to accept it.

Most times it isn't financially worth the fight, but sometimes it may, such as if you have 5 points and dont want to go above the 6 and get the fee charged yearly ETC.

If a officer were to give me a ticket based on a radar reading and after debunking or bringing proof his radar wasn't sufficient he will resort to visually confirming my speed, I'll be more then pleased.

officers are trained to tell ur speed with just their eyes radar is really only as a confirmation the judge looks at it the same 99% of the time
Officers are trained to tell speed visually but almost always rely on their lazer/radar systems.

In theory they claim their training is sufficient and they can tell speed visually, but you don't have to be a genius to know that no officer can differentiate 60-65 on a highway. If you were to fight such a ticket in court with any expert testimony you would most likely win.

The reason you would need expert testimony or an appeal is because most local judges ate biased. The get paid by the same few people that pay the police officer.

In cities where a speed limit is 25, officers do use their eyes to tell if someone is speeding but again they'll have a hard time if you were to fight it.

Technology is definitely a player. I'm guessing the technology providers are pushing their software as a way to show they are ontop of their game not realizing there are other factors at play as well. They actually boast about it in their advertising material.


 Maybe delta, southwest and JetBlue can afford some type of devalued point program due to better service, better cancellation and baggage rules or cheaper buisness pricing as in the latter case and many more benefits they provide. AA, seriously? are you providing guaranteed delayed flights?



It's sad to see AA think they can just devalue without any loss at play. Maybe the mechanic union can help them figure this out.

In a fair sense, airlines should take a balanced approach. Introduce dynamic award pricing for seats they consider to get sold or questionably sold and fixed prices for seats they would consider unsold + some for elites etc.

There are many companies and wealthy individuals that spend a ton of money on cc and use the points as just another way not to take cash out of their pocket. These types of people cause the airline to loose money absent introducing dynamic pricing.

Then there are regular spenders that specifically spend on a specific cc or an individual that specifically flies airline #1, so to be able to take a vacation etc, with these people the airlines will be loosing losing money if they introduce dynamic pricing.


It's hard to dispute the fact that blogs caused people to be way more mind conscious on what method of payment they are using and once these people feel they wont be able to get value out of points they will start using cash back cc @ 2%.

Imagine  a blog not being able to boast about first class, they would have way less readers and cc companies wont be making that much money, and most of those people redeeming anyway dont maximize the points so why bother making things so restrictive? for those few people that know how to get value? will the blogs still have what to hype about?

I think it's time for airlines to realize that not always is there room to squeeze. By looking at some airlines financials, the only area they are making money is points, so why mess?

I never had an issue.

Marriott's policy is to officially allow gifting of some award stays.

In most cases just call the hotel directly to add a guest to the reservation.

The car has better gas mileage than 13 miles a gallon. Its a scam.
Email them and show them what's going on.

I had success with gas charges at random rental companies, all by making a claim by email.

People need info spoon feed. 

IMHO a basic article detailing a few FF options would be helpful to most readers, such as crediting to MS or A3.

I'm guessing there are many people flying to Israel with their family and have no idea they can get *gold. They don't need miles or PQD, they just want some free extra luggage....
