Kempinski was about $110/night this time of year. Dont waste points on any of their hotels. Le Meridien was great. Sucks that they turned it into an RC.
He just charged a friend $330 a day about 2 weeks ago. He was good for me.

For the drive from Budapest Airport to Kerestir - waiting in Kerestir for an hour - and back to the Airport he charged $100 - About 5 Hours in all

I was in Istanbul and Izmir a few weeks ago.  'looked' friendly and safe to me.  But you won't find a jew on the street with a kipa.  In the bus, someone mentioned the name 'erdogan', on this the tour guide said in hebrew on the microphone:'please do not mention his name, because of the nehag (driver).  Don't go to the beis hakvoiros by yourself in Istanbul, you wouldn't like to meet the men loitering around there, by night.  Bear in mind, while in Istanbul, you are surrounded by 15 millions muslim.

That's a good one.
Still the pope represents the catholic church.  How many thousands and thousands of jews have been murdered and tortured in the name of the cross -
the vatican is the"house"of the pope. Wonder what our great grandparents would say if they could see their grandchild walking around in the vatican - "just for fun"....

I'm not accusing anyone specific of anything. Of course many people asked their LOR, but that doesn't mean many other people didn't.
You can't deny the herd mentality that often exists. For example, restaurants all over Israel with less-than-chareidi hashgachos are filled with chareidim who would never eat at a place with the equivalent hashgacha in the US.

I've read every post in this thread, but just because you're very careful with halacha and ask your Rav about any issues you may encounter, doesn't mean everyone else here does the same.

The Pope of Rome was now in Abu Dhabi.  Greeted warmly by Dr Ahmad Al Tayyeb, who seeks the destruction of Israel. Why should a Jew be in the vatican of all places ?!?!?

There's competition there, so there's 2 places to stay. There's also a hotel or apartments a few minutes away in Tokaj.

Tokaj is much nicer.  And ist cheap too.

They sent an email ad.
Nowadays they work with nice hotels in area, and if you book through them it's not so expensive.
This is also mentioned in the ad.

I would phone Arosa & Davos directly and ask them how much do the meals cost, without sleeping in their hotels.
Then you'll be able decide according to your Budget.

Does Rick Steves explain that the Colosseum was built with the plundered gold and silver of the destruction of the second beis hamikdosh ?
And that later on, these stones were taken from the Colosseum to build the cathedrals of st. John and st. peter lateran, the Palazzo Venezia and so on.
Does Rick Steve also explain that the Colosseum was mostly built by Jewish slaves, (60.000) dragging rocks all the way to Rome ? Does he mention the
thousands of Jews, who were murdered in cold blood, in the arena of the Colosseum for the entertainment and amusement of the 50.000 Romans  watching
the spectacle ?

I'm heading to Italy Aug 9th, flying EWR-VCE, spending Friday & Shabbos in Venice, Sun-Mon in Capri, and plan on taking a driver up the Amalfi coast and through Positano & Sorento on Tuesday, dropping us off in Naples (early Morning Flight on Wednesday). Does anyone know of any driver's they can recommend for Tuesday? Would like to stop at the towns etc..

Any other tips for this itinerary from those who have been?

Capri in summer is a nightmare.  So many tourists.
