Don't use Google for a reliable search.

but might be easier to implement
True, although a button in post editor might make more sense and should be about the same.

Not sure how port forwarding is relevant when we’re talking about USB storage. So what if you forward a port, how secure is this drive?
If one wanted to access their network they can do so with a port forward. So regardless of how those files are stored, it should be possible. Easy? Probably not and I haven't seen anything with a built in UI for the onboard USB.

Exposed to the internet is probably not the default for these kinds of things, and might not even be an option on some consumer routers that have such a USB storage feature.
Fortunately Port Forwarding is around on pretty much every router thanks to the gaming industry. (It definitely isn't the default)

That very much depends on network configuration. Connecting to the router directly doesn't automatically expose it to the internet.
A very true point. In addition exposing a port on one's router isn't recommended, for security reasons. It's definitely a potential use though.

To create storage that’s available to any computer on their internal network. Imagine like a Google drive kinda thing, but located onsite where any of your family’s desktops or laptops can access the shared drive to save, browser, and retrieve files.
It's not limited to the internal network.

Which is why I'm confused as to how he has better pricing...
Charles Ford has 1-8 for 5, but shipping guru is a lot faster
+1
Didn't realize there was a 3rd guy.

These are his prices, @myi what are the prices he gave u?

That's a new set of prices, who's that from?

Maybe a custom "New post" button on the amazon board where you put in the asin and it does the rest
That wouldn't work for master threads and replies.
When typing a username you get a drop-down of usernames like @ user.., the same can be implemented anytime an amazon link is detected you can get a drop-down with an option for tagged link or a full featured link.

Now we need it installed onto/into the forum.
There's room for more buttons.
@jj1000 for some reason didn't like that idea.
I wanted it to auto detect amazon links and automatically add a tag, or the full deal upon request.

Will a picture suffice?
