There are issues with doing this, mostly that there is some periodic requirement to log in from the "home" geography.

We have been unable to share with a close friend because when I log in it says, "hey log in from home and then maybe we can give you tv" (paraphrasing obviously).

I would love to split this, but I'm not sure how viable it is.

Yes and no. You need to book round trip. You don't need to use the return however.

I have one of these expiring May 31 that’s the Reserve Companion so it can book 2 for 1 first class domestic or coach domesitc. No Delta One bookings tho.

Want $150 $100 or equivalent value in points.

The only "issues" are that the fare buckets needed are not available on every flight.
