Up In The Air / Re: Aegean Star Alliance Gold
« on: December 30, 2013, 07:02:38 PM »
Im sure this has been addressed, but I tried searching and cant find it.
Is there a way to get your A3 benefits on a United award ticket? I tried changing my FF# on my booking but it didnt save, just went right back to United.
I was wondering the same thing. I booked two phl-las tickets that dan posted about today to earn status but can't seem to figure out if could use a3 gold benefits on a united award flight which is how I generally travel. Any one have input if the status works only on tickets purchased straight out? Or even on award flights?

Never heard of s/t like this working, but try pricing it out in their engine.
I gave it a shot but the multi flight search gets error message pretty quickly. Is there a rule against doubling back with a stopover/open jaw to similar area of of origin?

Can one use the one stopover and open jaw on a united international award miles trip for return flight from the "free" Hawaiian add on? for example fly round trip business ewr-tlv-ewr for 120k miles then use open jaw for jfk- hnl flight and return with stopover hnl-jfk or go with stopover and return with open jaw to another airport? will open jaw from a further airport like phl  help?

The 50k from the signup definitely do count.

I received over 100k rr points through chase personal and business yet showing zero progress toward companion pass. In response to my emails they wrote the following "Thank you for contacting us regarding the purchase of Rapid Rewards Points. We welcome the opportunity to respond.
Companion Pass Qualifying Points can be earned through the completion of revenue flights; however, they also can be earned by using any Rapid Rewards Credit Card from Chase or through Rapid Rewards Partners. Please understand that purchased points, bonus points, or points earned via a promotion (unless otherwise noted) are not considered Tier Qualifying Points and will not count toward Companion Pass qualification. For additional information, please visit"
Did the rules change? Any advice?

Credit Cards And Finance / Re: Authorized users
« on: May 09, 2013, 03:33:41 PM »
Does an authorized user have potential to drag down the primary users credit if he/she subsequently gets other cards in their own name (due to getting history by joining your account for some months) and uses them irresponsibly. Would like to help some relatives earn a history but don't want problems down the road if they hurt their own credit later on. Furthermore is it better to add on users to Amex cards spread out over time? What's pace to add on without triggering F/R ( they won't be using cards just will have them by me to establish history for them). I have multiple Amex cards.

Credit Cards And Finance / Re: Chase Reconsideration

I thought I heard at the seminar the other night that its better to try reconsideration the same day as app just wanted to clarify if that's true and why. I missed the question when asked.

Don't understand some of the posts, 261?

I had a Swiss flight cancelled from Israel in April so I wrote to them about the 3000 nis they replied as follows "The Israeli Aviation Services Law to which you refer applies only to citizens and permanent residents of Israel.  Therefore, we must respectfully deny your request for compensation under the provision of this Law." Is this true? what can I do further?

Does applying for a bluebird card give you a hard pull on your credit report like when applying for a credit card? It looks like they are asking for your social security when you apply

Any suggestions on a mileage run for July August to get Aegean gold status I currently have around 6k? Have been brushing up on the concept of mileage runs from different links on the forums and flyer talk but could use a little more direction on practically figuring it out (I see that us air is better w coach and united better with first and multiple stops are better and a lot of references to ITA searches though a little unclear exactly how you tailor all of this to ones needs)

AC, UA, and US give it to everyone on the res.

As far as weight:

Thanks. just presumably got my silver status with my flight from Tlv to Newark so with bonus start off form  Aegean at 6k miles and change. Onward!

3 x 70 pound bags for everyone on your ressie is a massive benefit.  And if you qualify in January 2012 the status is good until December 2015, that's 4 years folks.

where is this 3x70 bags for all on reservation listed for star alliance gold members, this is what I saw on Aegean website "Special Baggage Allowance on Star Alliance carriers. As a Gold Member, you are entitled to  additional 20 kg (44 pounds) where the weight concept applies, or one additional piece of luggage where the piece concept applies. For flights on Aegean Airlines only one extra piece of baggage is applied." and this is what I saw on Star alliance website "As a Gold Status holder you can choose not to travel light. We allow an additional 20 kg (44 pounds) where the weight concept applies, or one additional piece of luggage where the piece concept applies." ?
