Credit Cards / Re: Starwood AMEX Master Thread
« on: August 07, 2018, 03:37:16 PM »
Any way to add a poll on what people are doing with their Starwood card?

I get the one free night is a good value, however I question whether it will end up forcing me to spend more, since I won't stay just one night, if I do use it.

I'm thinking to close my SPG AmEx... I question whether I should really walk away from earning SPG points, however it also seems the AmEx Blue Business (2x AmEx points) or Chase Freedom Unlimited (1.5x Chase points) provide much better value for everyday spend....

Awaiting JetBlue confirmation here. Since my JetBlue account is family pooled, do I need to take the JetBlue flight or can my wife?

Lol, for the 3 readers I probably have in HNL?
It's Yeshiva week, this place is packed with Jews :)

Rabbi Shmuley Boteach spoke at Chabad on Sunday night. Place was pretty full.

Is there such thing as downgrading my Chase Ink Business Plus card to Chase Freedom without causing a new credit check?

So I have an AA ticket on hold HNL-LAX-JFK for Aug 29, Economy, 40k/ticket. Timing is not flexible and it's the cheapest award ticket on AA.

I found and now also have on hold through AA, HNL-SEA (17.5k on Alaska), SEA-JFK (20k on American) for a total of 37.5k. The layover is 45 minutes. What are the chances I can have my luggage pass through to the next flight?

Also, if there's a delay on the first leg, I'm thinking they may not be so helpful if I miss my connection...Thoughts?

For anyone planning a trip to Maui this might a nice opportunity. Just got an email to the SPG promo:

FREE UP YOUR NIGHTS IN MAUI
Starpoints® savings
SPG Award nights in Maui just got easier. Sheraton Maui Resort & Spa andThe Westin Maui Resort & Spa are now offering 12,000 to 16,000 Starpoints® for a free night (previously 20,000 to 25,000). And the fifth night is FREE.
Ha - awesome! Just booked the Westin for 12,000 points/night for 6 nights (1 night free). Didn't even realize this was a promo, but seemed like a good deal!

I figured after 6 BI trips we may want to see some other islands.
6 BI trips! That's impressive! Lucky man.

If you need to use a stroller is the only option the Ala Moana for Shabbos?  TIA.
Technically you need to walk outside from the hotel to get to the Chabad. While it's attached to the hotel, I am unaware of any way to enter Chabad directly from the hotel.
