Should work, make sure the bios setting are the same. Many inspirons are 8 or above and have secure boot enabled

Don't care who makes it, Dell screens are generally top notch and outlast almost all other manufacturers

While I spent over an hour on hold with Dell today only to be told I'd get a call back, which obviously I haven't as of yet
If the computer shipped you will get it, stop worrying.

And if they canceled without notice? Will they normally redo the order?
You can sometimes convince them that it was canceled due to credit card error...

@dh data recovery. Have you seen any good deals on mid size SSDs?
What do you consider mid sized? Newegg has an Intel 480GB SSD for about $139 - Intel SSD are usually pretty solid

From my extensive experience with Dell, if they ship the item or even list it as shipped you will most likely receive it.

Okay. Let's make a deal. Techies, which do you choose:

Behind Door #1: Lenovo - 15.6" Laptop - AMD A8-Series - 6GB Memory - 500GB Hard Drive - Black

Behind Door #2: Dell - Inspiron 15.6" Touch-Screen Laptop - Intel Core i3 - 8GB Memory - 1TB Hard Drive - Black Gloss

Behind Door #3: Dell Black 156 Inspiron 3542 Laptop PC with Intel Core i34005U Processor 4GB Memory 500GB Hard Drive and Windows 10

Doors 2 & 3 were Black Friday deals, about $325 each. Door # 1 we ordered over the summer for $295 but it's not working well (may be our internet problem) and is in the process of Amex return.

THOUGHTS????

Door #2 without a doubt. The inpsiron 5000 series from best buy was much better than the inspiron 3542 which has some major flaws - including the tiny touchpad.

Model doesn't tell me anything in terms of processing speed etc but I assume your studio had its own issues as well - Wild guess plastic came apart from hinges right?

Did anyone comment on the Dell Microsoft Black Friday deal?  Wondering on the quality etc
If you're referring to the $399 deal - Pretty decent quality for home laptop, price is solid as well.

2 questions:
1-Is it a good reliable quick computer for moderate to heavy use? (No gaming or graphics creation)
2-Is this a great deal, or just a good deal? In other words, is this kind of deal unique to BF?
Thanks!

ETA: How would you compare it to these?

As a rule HP home computers generally aren't quality machines. I'm not sure I can pinpoint what's wrong with each system, but they are generally very underwhelming. Even when buying a quad core i7 - which they very often have for much cheaper than any of their competitors, it won't work as fast as it should. Having said that, they also have very competitive pricing and you can sometimes look sleek...
