Goods For Sale/Trade / iPhone 5 for sale

In anticipation of the release of the iPhone 6 this month, I will be selling my white 64GB iPhone 5. Phone is in excellent working condition with minor cosmetic wear. Post here or message me if interested. The only flaw in the phone is that the power button(on top) does not work, but there is no use for the button anyways(other than taking a screenshot, which can be accomplished through other methods).

Tech Talk / Re: What Do You Pay For Internet And What Speed Do You Get?
« on: February 27, 2014, 03:58:05 PM »
I get all 3 services from optimum for about $150/month. Internet speed is around 15/5.

I called the retention dept earlier this week and got my bill lowered by about $40/month down from $190 but I'm still not happy paying this much...any chance another call to the retention dept could knock some more off my bill?

I also make 1 phone call per day to Verizon since I live in a 3-family house sandwiched between 2 apt buildings that BOTH have FIOS but my address is "unavailable" so I have them submit one of those stupid engineering requests every day(and no one ever gets back to me). Maybe one day I'll get through to someone who actually has half a brain...

Tech Talk / Re: Galaxy S5!

BGR writes that Samsung is waiting for the HTC announcement and then smash them

Hope this is true...kinda upset that the S5 isn't blowing people's minds.

New word on the street is that Apple could release the iPhone 6 in July(usually September release)...

Tech Talk / Samsung S5 vs HTC One 2 vs iPhone 6 vs The Field
« on: February 25, 2014, 02:08:31 PM »
Figured I would start a "best phone(s) of 2014 discussion" so people can weigh in on what they have, what they're looking at, etc.

I currently have an iPhone 5, my 2-year contract ends in September. I love my phone to death, but I don't have any loyalty to any platform(switched from one of the old Galaxy S phones to my iPhone) and my next phone will either be a coin flip or be decided by best overall value(however you think that can be determined).

I eagerly awaited the release of the S5 and it seems to not be such a blockbuster. The HTC One 2(or M8) will come out at the end of March and the iPhone 6 will be released in the fall(Sept/Oct), with the current rumors suggesting 2 new sizes of 4.7 and 5.3 inch screens. I'm currently unfamiliar with the HTC One. I'd love to hear about other phones as well.

What do you have? What do you want? Post it here!  :)

If I can get a convertible for cheap I'd go for it, otherwise just looking for the best deal.

Guess as to how much the iphone 5 will be going for on Ebay arrival week?

Would not be surprised to see people paying $850+ for an unlocked 16GB, considering they're currently dishing out $650+ for the 4S on ebay. And, if you're going to shell out $850, you're going to shell out $1K...

For the budget-conscious, I will swear by these:

http://www.amazon.com/Shure-SE215-K-Sound-Monitor-Black/dp/B004PNZFZ8/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1344780410&sr=8-1&keywords=shure+se215

After breaking my first pair(stepped on them and the earpiece snapped in a freak accident), I spent about 2 months doing research before coming right back to these. There is no active noise-cancelling technology, but I swear that even without any music playing, the ability of these earbuds to block out sound is downright scary. I HAVE to take them out when someone is talking to me, even if theyre standing right next to me. Add to that how comfortable they are(I can wear them for hours on end) and the sub-$100 price tag, and I'm fairly certain that these are the best noise-isolating headphones(earbuds) that $100 can buy.

If you are looking for over-the-ear phones, my vote goes to these:

http://www.amazon.com/Sennheiser-HD448-Closed-Circumaural-Headphone/dp/B002DGTGO0/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1344780628&sr=1-13&keywords=sennheiser+hd

They don't compare to the Bose QC15s or Beats as far as noise-cancelling technology, but they are just as(if not more) comfortable, produce amazing sound quality, and do as good of a job at noise-cancelling as $100 will buy.
