if your laptop has an eSata port, or at least usb 3.0 would be helpful

Try turning off "power saving" on the usb hub (in device manager), like this the usb port/device does not go to sleep, it is possible that when you are doing cuts and some other stuff in premiere you are using the cached file and the hard drive went to sleep because it was idiling, and when you continue to see past the cache it then wakes up the drive...

And btw if you are using a usb 2.0 drive it will always go slower then using an internal drive, the max speeds usb 2.0 can do it 400mbps, vs internal sata which depending on your computer and drive can be anywhere between 1-6gbps.

Both are not real life numbers because you are limited by rpm and actuall spining, but internal will always be faster unless you are using an esataa or usb 3.0

I am in the midst of producing a video with Adobe CS6.

I am running all the videos off of my WD 1TB external HD. The problem is, that at random points the hard drive decides to "space out" and even just opening a file directly from the HD can take 2-3 minutes. While to open any file that is saved directly on the PC would open instantly (like supposed to). Then after wasting an hour over it, it will start working again as usual.

Any ideas what the issue may be?

I like the way you and rots5 resort to Ad hominem attacks because of your lack of any logical arguments to add to this discussion. Here are some free ideas for future responses: "you are probably fat" "I know you are but what am I",  if you need more I will ask some 2 year old's for some more "brilliant" responses.

One thing that a lot of people seem to be missing is that it's Dan's site. Not just for the fact that he has the right to do whatever he wants on it and people shouldn't be telling him what to do, but also for the fact that the chutzpa people have for calling him out on his own site.

Have smicha but not a practicing rabbi, but preaty sure about this. It is also a basic bor bereshus harabim type of sitch - but not sure if this is the same..

Won't hurt to just call a rov, perhaps rabbi chaiken, rov of ctown so by extension rov of ddf

we apologized profusely and promised to fix etc, might need to haul him in to BD etc...

If he had any real damages you would benefit by him just suing you and paying a slightly higher premium. According to halacha you would also be liable and I am unsure if insurance will cover a beis din psak.

Someone slipped and broke a knee on a slight crack on a sidewalk, the crack is approx raised a half an inch.
Homeowner has a good full liability insurance. What affect could this have on the homeowner?

Many times a simple apology to the one who fell can smooth things over. your premium will most probably go up especially that there was a crack in the cement. Ice and snow in some areas are considered acts of g-d and not sue-able, but this according to adjuster will most probably be considered negligence

I didn't say he shouldn't bend over backwards. I said that retail store owners hate customers who expect them to do anything and everything just bec "i'm your customer and you need to satisfy me otherwise/bec I have the power to badmouth you.

They rather that those type of customers don't shop by them in the first place.

Nobody is asking that he do anything special, all that is being asked that he should NOT do something, and that is to not make fun of his readers.

There are methods that need to be done by "mistake", for example termites, rodents, random power outages.. but these should only be done of all fails, the fallout and chilul hashem can be really bad..

Your comment was indeed "brilliant".

The fact of the matter is that a business owner should be bending over backwards for all his customers, all he needs is one 75 cent customer to bad mouth the place and his business can suffer badly. This is not a case of bending over backwards, in my example and as it is so in the case of dan deals - all one asks for is some basic mentchlikeit and not to feel that the "owner" is making fun of one of his patrons within earshot. Other customers and patrons can smirk and laugh all they want but the owner should never condone and definitely not initiate such behavior
