Credit Cards And Finance / Re: Churning Methods
« on: July 11, 2008, 05:18:11 PM »
Hey guys,
I cancelled 2 Amex's last year to churn some 2 new one's this year...now they've told me they won't give me the points, quoting the signup page "Bonus Starpoints are for first-time Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Cardmembers only".
Any ideas?
I've already booked tickets to Vancouver for a week!!!...I was relying on this for the hotel stay!!! =(

try to speak to the chef, Steve, and ask him to make you a steak with veal jus and marsella (with homemade pasta with turkey bacon on the side) hands down the best kosher steak. also the sushi rocks.

I went Sunday night...the chef was too busy to do what he did for you, and what we got was not worth the money at all. We had Stuffed Veal and Steak, both were atrocious considering the price!...though the Sushi was really good!

number two, are you saying that abigails is better than prime grill or le marais?

I was saying that Gladstone's compares with the even the lower-end Abigail's, I've been to Prime Grill & Abigail's

There a is a place which is apparently better than Gladstone's, called Meron, though you've gotta be careful as there's a non-Kosher restaurant with the same name on the same road (spelled differently). We mistakenly walked into the non-Kosher one, and after many a stare the manager advised us that this was not a Kosher establishment, we'd even made a reservation...so, when we got to the Kosher one it was fully booked, nm.

oh also be sure to check out a restaurant called gladstones on eglinton which is better than any restaurant in ny (yes, even prime grill and le marais)

Actually, I live in Toronto, and have been to Gladstones...it doesn't even beat Abigail's!!!!...and Abigail's is cheaper!!

Destination Guides And Trip Planning / Re: Going to Maui
« on: June 03, 2008, 04:25:54 PM »
Maui is an absolutely incredible place, just make sure you go there with an itinerary so that you're able to hit the "must-do's" while there.

How long are you going for?

I found the Starwood hotels to be too pricey on Maui, and they didn't have Cash and points when I went.  I used vrbo.com to find a no-frills condo at a fraction of the cost of a hotel.

To answer the OP's question, I always use Cash and points when available.

Which property did you stay at? Would you recommend it?
I stayed at a VRBO place in Orlando and we got a little jipped.
