Thanks. Another question- any breakfast places similar in variety and creativity to tasty beach cafe in aventura or surfside?

Planning a first time trip to MIA. Options are a renting an already kosher house with a pool in NMB (at a decent price), or using points for the Residence Inn Surfside (space is a big factor- the status that I have will not guarantee me any upgrades so the RI will give me the most space for my points).

Obviously the space and private pool are very appealing, but will the location detract from the enjoyment of the trip? Looking at Google Maps, it will take 45 minutes to get to 41st and Collins area during rush hour.  But it is a halfway point between kosher restaurants in Aventura and Surfside. Alternatively staying in a more central area will shorten our driving time, but my wife won't be able to swim at all.

Any thoughts/opinions?

Just called UA to reconfirm KSML for lax-ewr tomorrow and I had an agent tell me that they are only available for us-TLV flights :o. And he insisted upon this “fact”. Even after I read him the ksml availability from United.com.

Some days....

Is there anything at all resembling Basil/BAB/etc for breakfast in the city? Or even just a good bakery.

I don't love MMF.

Century City update:

Bacio di Latte, the incredible kosher gelato in Brazil, has opened up a store in Westfield Century City. I couldn't find info about any hashgacha as of now but hopefully in the future they will have.

Lette macarons has opened up another location in Century City as well- they are OU-D.

Anyone know of hotels in the city that have some type of corner that a crib can be somewhat to the side? Obviously hoping for a suite upgrade but if that doesn't work out, I need a room that has some type of corner or nook that I can put a crib in. Baby doesn't sleep well with people around and I want to enjoy my trip.

Hyatt, SPG, Hilton, Marriott, Hilton, or IHG are all ok.

Anyone been to One80? Yehoshua?

I've been twice.

Pros:
Thin-crust pizza unlike anything else in LA. Reminiscent of Pizza da Solo in NY (with less of a char on the crust). I haven't been buying pizza from restaurants here for awhile because they all are much thicker crust, but I've been here twice in two weeks. They have specialty pizzas like BBQ chicken (parve), Mac and Cheese, Margherita, etc., as well as make your own pizza.

Nice looking, modern restaurant.

Cons:
They are way understaffed. The way that the restaurant works is that they have one person each manning the initial order, dough/sauce selection, toppings, salad, then register. So when they are busy (which they were PACKED) both nights I was there, you spend a whole lot of time waiting in line.

Both nights that I was there, they were out of certain pizza toppings. So the line is held up while the people at the toppings "station" are trying to figure out what they want now.

It is a fairly large location with a lot of unused space. Which would be fine except there are not enough seats. So after waiting in line forever to order, then you have to wait for someone to leave, and which point your pizza is cold.

All in all, the food is good but the atmosphere/service is eh. I don't think I would eat there again if they are busy, probably just do takeout.
