Log in to your account as normal. On your home page, at the top, in a blue "strip" click on SERVICES.

In the 1st column, about 1/2 way down, CREDIT CARD SERVICE REQUESTS.

The last one in that section: Enroll in/Get Virtual Account Numbers

As stated in another post, make sure you do not have pop up windows blocked - I also find that this virtual number pop up works best in INTERNET EXPLORER browser.

You will be given the choice to download software to your PC or use web based - I prefer the web based.

It will then ask you to log in again - IIRC the first time you do this, you need to get a call at your registered number - with a 6 digit PIN i think. But this is only done first time.

Once you do this a box pops up with several choices - the first is GENERATE VIRTUAL NUMBER - and in a couple of seconds, you have it there on screen.

NOTE: If you have more than one credit card - before getting the virtual number, among the choices is SELECT A CARD - this will allow you to pick which Citicard you want to generate a Virtual Number for.

GREAT FORUM - have learned alot from  the sidelines - so trust these first 2 posts of mine are helpful to others.

+1 Wow thanks for all those details!

Did they pull again? Was it denied or just pending?

They were pending. Looks like there was another pull the next day even though he told me there wouldn't be. I wonder if that was for the SPG biz card. Going to call then now.

YMMV

+1 It was 1 pull for me.

Who did you deal with at Amex? The Indian reps who are totally clueless? I was denied PRG  called twice but there was no one to talk to.

Indian rep. I know, right? He was amazing. I said man I wish I could get a direct number for you.

You probably have pop-ups blocked.

yes, you still pay $1, but you won't need to waste time canceling. Citi will try to charge that vcc # and it won't go, so they'll just cancel the subscription

Got it thanks. Any chance you have a link for Citi VCC? Whatever I find asks me to login and then brings me to the general Citi CC page, but nothing about VCC.

opened in the past year 6 chase ink bold and plus (3 different tax id )
tried opening 2 more with a 2BM
was denied. hucad already 4 times but a supervisor put notes on the app NOT to approve.
should I SM? any hope? getting 2 denials is bad for credit score? (have 749)
have now big office expenses any suggestions what card to open?
have already (business)  SPG
                                        Amex gold rewards
                                        chase ink
                                        citi AA business

Denials aren't any worse for your credit score than approvals. Each time you apply you get a pull on your report (which is bad) whether you get approved or denied.

You have big office expenses? Don't load 'em up on CCs! Get a business loan.

Even if you apply with a VCC, you're still actually paying the $1 for the first month right? So then why use a VCC? Why not just use a regular CC and cancel within 30 days?

In Chase branch now, having the banker send a personal recommendation to the credit card team to reconsider an app I've been declined for because I have $10K in my bank account. I was declined for too many new cards in too short a time. I will hopefully update here when I hear back.

A learning opportunity for all.
Apply with your old address.  Change to new address after approval.

What was your 3bm and what is the general 4bm people are doing at Barclay's?

Lufthansa
Arrival
US Airways

Some ppl have tried the NFL card I heard, but any links I found have basically no bonus.

Ok to update my situation...

Applied for 10 cards last night, 0 instant approvals. The banks and Dan and others have confirmed that's definitely because I gave a new address on my apps - one that was not on my credit report. Oh well. So, today was a day of calls.

Barclays approved Lufthansa. Said they won't approve Arrival or US Airways b/c 1) I have too many new cards open with other banks recently (5 Chase, 1 AMEX since June) and 2) 1 card is enough for now, prove I can use it well, can't split the 10K limit to 2 cards, etc etc. But I didn't really expect to get those 2 since everyone says it's practically impossible these days.

AMEX was amazing. Rep approved PRG then approved Delta then approved SPG (all consumer) and said SPG (biz) would just take a little more pending time, but could be approved soon hopefully. 1 rep did all that. Wow.

Citi approved Plat WMC (consumer) and got the ball rolling to hopefully approve Plat WMC (biz) but it took like 45 min on the phone. Wouldn't approve Visa Sig b/c it's too similar of a card to the Plat WMC (?) and it's too many AA program cards. HUCA got me the "2 cards in 60 days" speech - although I haven't officially been approved for the biz card yet.

So all in all, 5 out of 10 cards have been approved so far, and I really didn't expect the other 2 Barclays to work, so I'm calling it 5 out of 8 with hopes for 2 more :-)

you got approved?

Was applying for my first cards with them (3bm). They approved Lufthansa once I called to verify my address (I had given a diff address than the one on my credit report) but for the other cards they asked why I had so many new cards with other banks recently and didn't approve the other 2. Strange that they even asked that b/c they kinda accepted my response and then said we'll you're too knew to Barclays, so 1 card at 10K is enough to try out for now and no we can't split that 10K among 2 cards.

After calling, you got the approval?

I've only started the calling (it was an AOR so there are lots of call to make). Barclays said the main reason for denial was that the address didn't match the one on my credit report. So they approved 1 card.
