Credit Cards / Re: My next app-o-rama...

Can I get some suggestions? I'd like to do an AOR for all banks except Chase since I have 5 cards opened with them recently.

US Airways

I know everyone says there's no chance to get approved for more than 1 card these days, but I don't mind spending the few minutes to try anyway.

I have Blue Cash (not preferred)
CMIIW you can only have 4 AMEX cards open at once. So, which 4 would I want? Should I close my BC so I could go for a different 4th card? I'm going to guess SPG should be on the list b/c Dan raves about it.

I have an AA Gold Visa that I recently downgraded to the Bronze Mastercard to avoid the AF. Which other Citi cards can/should I go for? (Can you have more than 1 AA card at a time?) Why aren't any Citi cards listed on the Wiki with links - is it simply that Dan doesn't have affiliate links with Citi?

Any purpose in going for an It Card? I don't have a Freedom card.

Okay, phew! I know that was a ton. If anyone can answer any parts of that, it would rock! thanks

You can't -1 and not say which one! :)

+1 :p

Has anyone had success buying VRs with a CVS gc or a Visa gc? I know once you're getting 5X at Office Depot for a gc you could just upload it at WM, but uploading VRs online seems so much easier. Also, even if Office Depot doesn't sell CVS gc, you can use this site
( to swap any gc basically with a CVS gc. Found the link in an old forum post.

My friend has had a Wells Fargo cc for 2 years but never used it. CS is 728 but that's basically useless since there's no payment history on it, just some student loans. Odds for getting a new cc approved? Was thinking of suggesting Freedom.

90+ days

Why is that necessarily true? The banks are different banks, so why not just try right away for the Chase 3bm? From what I've read on other sites, the hit from a credit pull is very minimal. Also where does 90 days come from, if the hit stays on your report for 2 years?

I have 14 bluebird cards (family) so new cards are done generally in 1 day..

Wow. Do you have a full time job?

True, but I buy VR's with my SPG so I can get hotels on the cheap & I get UR points via Ink CC's etc..

Technically the best card to buy VR's with is the United Club card... Its the most valuable way to earn miles.

I don't see why. You could always have a storeroom of new CCs waiting to hit their thresholds and knock them out with VR. Definitely the most points you'll get for $5000/mo of VRs.

Just got email from BB that they are changing their terms starting soon. They will only allow 1 debit card to be linked with an account. I guess they are trying to put a stop to gc's.

Ime you won't get approved for all 3 and may cost you 3 pulls

Anyone have experience getting 3 pulls for a 3BM with Barclays?

IMO yes.
Even though I say don't bother with 3.
If I knew how to quote Dan from the main site, I would tell you he responded to me that it can't hurt to at least try a 3BM. Waste 5 minutes of your time at most?

+1 got it as well.... we gotta chap arein before this game gets a lot more complicated then it already is

VRs are just so much safer.

So the recon rep is using the term "Card Cap" saying I can only have two new accounts within a thirty day period. They're willing to give me the card I'm reconning for if I close one of the two I already got.

I'm going to HUCA again, and SM if necessary. Has anyone heard them use this specific term before? And is there a good way to get around other than hang up and call at a late hour / weekend?

2 cards in 30 days is classic Chase talk. Was the first time I learned the power of HUCA.

Ok, so I just got the "2 cards in 30 days" shpiel on 4 HUCAs in a row. I'm starting to think I've hit my limit. I mean I definitely have 4 cards in the past 30 days, but lets not tell our friendly CSR that.  8)

If my credit report has a pull from "Amex Account Review" should I be concerned? It's a soft pull, so I'm not concerned about it hurting my score, but is that an indication that Amex is looking into me?

Firstly I have never received points if I closed. Before a statement closed and secondly Chase doesn't have that option of making the points available earlier.

Why not extend the 30 days that the application stays in the system through reconsideration, then after your point are in your BA account just close the card.

If you get the points already, go for it. But if you close it before you get the points, YMMV.

If you met the spend and already paid it, try calling and asking them to post it prior to statement closing.

Oh yeah, I can definitely wait until the statement closes and points post. I guess I was just asking if it was a guaranteed thing to get the points even if you close the card. (Clearly, it's not guaranteed.) The other aspect of my Q was if there was a reason for me to actually keep the card and use it. Seems like there are better point systems for everyday purchases than 1.25 avios/dollar.
