Tech Talk / Re: Disabling Ring doorbell for shabbos

Yup, I wish there a way to avoid doing anything manually but it doesn't appear to be possible at this point.
I know someone who broke the LEDs on their sensors which solved their problem. But it wasnít a Ring system so no promising that it wonít break the sensor by doing that.

Looking into this more, it seems like the second generation contact sensors are much better for this, because you can just slide out the actual sensor before Shabbos without detaching it from the wall. https://support.ring.com/hc/en-us/articles/360039497552. If I'm reading this correctly, this is different than the first generation sensors where you'd have to physically detach it or take out the battery.
Better, but if it still requires manual work every shabbos itís not much different than the Velcro trick.

Does anyone have the Ring Alarm system and have a good way of disabling the contact sensors for Shabbos? Doesn't seem to be anyway to do so in the app so I'm thinking attaching some sort of magnets to make them think that that the doors/windows are closed may be the best option. Anyone have any ideas?
Thanks to @APoshiterYid I secured the magnets to the wall via velcro so I pull them off before Shabbos. I only used velcro on the doors that we'd likely open on shabbos.

Not here on the top right? Also in Motion Settings. Maybe you need to update app or maybe itís only on the Pro and you have a different version?
Can anyone give screenshot or directions for this main off button?
Go up to this post that I quoted. I had a screenshot there.

I know someone looking for a part time job that can be done remotely and in the evenings. Simple job/low pay is fine. If you have any leads, please PM me.

These are obviously people who are done with the guidelines. They donít believe the situation on the ground warrants the home confinement any longer, and they are acting on it.
Then I assume theyíve already gone back to minyan?  ::)

This is insane and I canít believe brooklyn or lakewood people would be okay with it, after they went crazy with shuls closing. HINT: if your Rav says your shul has to be closed, and you canít daven with a minyan to the ribbono shel olam, you shouldnít be traveling to a ďnicerĒ place to live our your quarantine.

What about the main off button. While itís manual, does that turn off motion and the notifications properly?

I saw that. But that isn't to schedule. Have to do it manually. In motion settings it allows you to schedule alerts but not too actually turn off motion detection
