Dan, I bought this in May 08:

I have it and love it! But earlier today the sound stopped coming out of the right ear bud, tho the mic just below it still works. I stupidly didn't use my Amex to buy it. Any hopes on getting Sony to replace it?

If your looking for cashback and want to get it as a statement credit every month (vs having to wait till you accumulate $250), I think the best card is the Amex Simply Cash card. It will only give you 1 percent on groceries though. If you also charge your cell phone bill to it, you'll get 5% cash back for that.

If your looking to get the most for groceries, there may be better options out there, but not necessarily cash back. For example the Amex Gold Rewards card .The Chase Freedom card may also give you a higher rate of cashback for groceries.

I have the Chase Freedom. It's 1% only. They just reduced it in June 09.

I wil check the others.

Why use cash when I can use a card that will give some sort of reward?

I don't drive much. Maybe fill the tank once a month. I do, however, need to eat. What's the best card for the highest reward for grocery purchases?

I think MacDan was asking if he will get points for spending if he paid off the balance before the statement closed since the statement would close without an outstanding balance- i dont think the question was "when" he will get the points but "if". (this can really come into play when someone has a small CL with the SPG card and has alot of spending to do more than the CL and wants to earn points for all the spending. He could essentially keep on paying off the balance a few times a month in order to clear up the CL so he can earn all the points- hope that want too confusing)

The answer I believe is yes.

Absolutely correct. Sometimes people have a hard time reading and understanding basic, simple English.

I called Amex and asked. After going through things it's clear the fault was on my end. Moreover, I asked specifically what happens to points if I pay the balance in part of full before the cycle is complete. The gentleman assured me that I would receive points.

Not till statement closes

Crap! Is there any way to recoup those lost points? Can I call them?

Dan, if I charge $4k on my Amex Starwoods and pay it off before the due date do I still get the points? A quick look makes me thing something is up.

Good luck 18 months post facto...I got my check within a couple months.

Thanks, Dan. Fortunately I am well within the statute of limitations and will likely be filing a chapter 97 (consumer protection act violation) against them.

Credit Cards / Chase Freedom $250 rebate???

Dan (or anyone else),

I applied for a Chase Freedom over a year ago, was approved and got the card. The ad said that it came with a $250 rebate. I even called a few times and was told this was happening, just be patient.

It's been over a year. Probably more. I am about to start filing complaints against Chase with the various authorities...and possible a small claim lawsuit.

However- I am looking for the original ad! Dan (or anyone else), can you please link me to this ad? I'll need it for the obvious reasons.

Thank you. Moadim lsimcha. Good moed.

i ordered $2000 under the same name, address, credit card. after i received it, i shlepped it to apple bank (albany ave) and they said that their policy is that only the first ten rolls are free. each additional roll of coins are 20 cents each. there was no way that i was shlepping them all back home, so i paid the $14.00. i went there this week and closed my account. horrible customer service and stupid policies. bank somewhere else!!!

I called BofA before ordering to make sure they would take as many rolls as I brought with no fees. They said bring it on.

Wish I got my $10k. Instead I'll only get 500. They said the new coins come out in August, to be on the look out!
