when being careful not to use more then 20%, is the percentage calculated per card on its own, or combined of your complete credit line on all cards?
card on its own
in this article i just came across it says 10% (5th paragraph)

You can spend the full $5,700 and pay it off or refund it I suppose.
i was thinking of that, but that means i would once again be using 100% of my limit (at least that one time) which will take my score down another few points, and will continue ruining my record of never using more than 20% of my limit (even if it will help me in the long run).
as of now im trying to fight it with the bureaus and if that doesn't work ill probably never use the card again

Credit Cards And Finance / chase freedom

I signed up to the chase freedom card a few months ago and i was really liking the card. It has some great benefits like 5% cash back (on up to $1500) on money spent in certain categories that change every quarter .
All was great until I checked my credit score to find out that my score was down from about 800 to 775, and I am really careful about on time payments, and never using up more than 20% of my limit etc. , so I started trying to find the negative factor on my report and all was looking good until the chase freedom card which says i was using up about 60% of my limit, and I knew that's impossible since my limit is $5700 and I never used more than a few hundred bucks, then I see that the limit it has on my report is the most i have ever used which was about $420, so apparently chase is not reporting my limit the the bureau (i know that amex and capital1 had this problem way back).
Did anyone else have this problem and find a way to repair your score?

thank you

check what % you are using with the gap card, there might be a really low limit and you are going to the max which is really bad, you should not use more than 50% [better yet 25]

this guy asks his friends 8 year old doughter what she wants to do when she grows up? so she says i want to be president of the united states, since her 2 liberal democrat parents were standing right there watching he asks "and what are you going to do as president?" ''im going to buy homes for all the homeless people'' so he says you dont need to be president to help out, you can come to my house and mow the lawn and ill give you 50 bucks and you can go to the supermarket and give the 50 bucks to the homeless guy sitting outside. so she thinks for a minute and asks "why doesent the homeless guy just mow your lawn himself and get the 50 bucks?" so he extends his hand and says "welcome to the republican party!"

Im pretty sure that its 56k point for a ticket on ElAl only.
yea if im not mistaken they give you a el al flight fot 56 and they claim it would cost you 80 with another card

this guy has a friend from europe over for a visit, and he says to his friend you gatta watch a game of american football before you go home, so they go to a game and his friend sits through the game with this blank look on his face and at the end of the game the american asks so what do you think of american football? his friend looks at him and says you americans are nuts! the american asks why whats wrong? his friend tells him..... well what i saw was like 15 grown men all padded up face each other then one man takes out a quarter and throws it in the air and then for the next three hours  you have 15 grown men beating the crap out of each other yelling GET THE QUARTER-BACK! GET THE QUARTER-BACK!
like for g-ds sake will somebody tell them its only 25 cents!

Does anyone know the details of the HAS Advantage credit card, like how many miles you get per purchase, and how many are enough for a free flight? Also is there a sign up bonus? Annual fee? I couldn't  find any info on the website.
they r sopposed to have a good deal with el al flights and there is a reference bonus so if you know anyone that has the card you can say he told you about it and split the money

i opened a bank of america student card 6 months ago and applied a few times (about 3) for other cards and was denied. Any ideas why? Is it b/c ive been using most of my credit limit?
if you want to build up good credit score you should not be using up more than 30% of your available credit [some say that less than 15% is the best] but if you use up more than 50% you are doing harm to your credit, cnn says not more than 35%
so if you were using 80-90% that explains why u were rejected

i read somewhere that the first credit card you get you should keep [and use atleast every six months] becouse its importent for your credit that you had a card for a long time, so you should ask yourself if a gap card is a card that you want to keep for the rest of your life? i think you would be better off with someting like the chase or any student card from a good company that has half decent rewards [ i got the "has us-bank student card" ] and then as dan says sign up to something like the starwood

General Discussion / Re: Car Insurance NYC

make beleive you did not know and take chances. Put on you license a different address. Let me tell you if the insurance company has to shell out over a hundred thousand dollars they will investigate you and your place of residence if you should have, been covered by them and you were not. They Will Sue You if you should have been placed on the insurance.
this is true, i have the same problom i was the first in my family to get a license and i felt bad about the cost that my father will get, so i thought i will just change my address and this way im just a visiter at home so there is no charge and  thats it, but i asked a frum insurance worker if that will work and he told me if you get a scratch on the car that costs 500$ to fix then it will prob be fine but if they need to pay for someones lambrgini then they will investigate, so i ended up telling the insurance company that im away from home most of the time so insted of 1600 more a year its only 800 more a year i am still taking a risk but at least im somewhat covered, and btw there is not such a big difference between one son and three sons the big cost is for the first son
