Credit Cards / American Express Clear
« on: September 08, 2008, 02:46:41 PM »
Does anyone (Dan) know what the deal with the American Express Clear is? It sounds good with no fees, and low apr on balance transfers etc, but I can't find what the apr on purchases is after the first year is? Also, what type of point system will it be using? And, is it going to be tough to get approved?

Thanx

E... I used to be SPG gold and it expired after a year because of some promotion. At that point I called up and they said there is nothing they can do. I guess I'll try again.

for shoes once you know your size with a given company i think the best way to go is ebay you got to keep on looking and you will find something. (i am a lot more apprehensive with clothes on ebay as many are fake (see all the ebay guides on spotting fakes) but with shoes as long as you know your size with that company(size varies from company to company) i think you are fine.

People sell fake shoes on ebay also.

Believe it or not I'm a huge fan of The Hat Box. The suits are not that expensive and they last very long - and they're nice. Their hats are cheaper than Bencraft too. The only thing I would warn you is that they sell clearly fake brand name ties like Hermes. Otherwise, a good experience.

Their burberry ties are also fake. Also, not to mention names but some of their salesmen are a bit crazy V'hamaivin Yavin.

General Discussion / Re: Yahoo sellout

Yahoo strangely enough has a large following, that microsoft wanted to tap into, to give them more marketshare against google. They have since retracted their offer, and I think personally that it's because they decided that they are just going to try and make it with their revamped search portal live.com, and yahoo is just not worth it.

Also, Yahoo didn't really make such a bad move. In most scenarios where one company tries to take over another, usually the first offer is rejected in hopes that a second offer will be made that is better than the first. The company being taken over hopes that the first bid garners enough interest throughout the industry to boost their value. In this specific case, Yahoo didn't realize that microsoft would back down.

The STS and CTS have similar drives, but the the STS is slightly larger and more powerful. The DTS is completely different and just large and cumbersome. That being said, if you need to drive a long distance and don't care about paying for gas, the DTS is probably the most smooth and comfortable.

How do people know when there will be a woot-off, is it announced somewhere?
There is nor real way. However if one is coming up, they usually put some hints in their newsletter that they send out via email.

Tech Talk / Re: How to do things on your cell Phone.
« on: June 18, 2008, 02:03:47 AM »
I know I just started but I hope to contribute to these forums to the best of my ability. I agree with Mordy that this thread is a little ridiculous. There are many carriers and hundreds of phones out there, and ## commands will work on some and not on others. Additionally, they won't necessarily perform the same functions.
So in order to make this these threads helpful, IMHO, it would make sense to create threads that are phone specific, phone manufacturer specific, or even carrier specific. I think that this forum has alot of potential to succeed, and if you think about the future at all, picture what a thread like this will look like in 6 months from now. It will be impossible to find any useful information, especially as technology changes.
How to do things on your cell Phone is not an appropriate title for a thread, it's an appropriate title for an entire forum containing threads.

Just thought I'd add in my two cents...
