Interesting.
Well worth it at any rate, was one of the highlights.
I can scan it if people want.
We waited for sunset, which was the most beautiful I've seen in my life, and drove down right after while it was still light out.
Then watched the amazing constellation show at the visitors center halfway down. After that it's paved.
I don't think I even touched my gas pedal from the top of Mauna Kea until the end of saddle road in Hilo which is hours of driving.
+1

bring a coat cuz its FREEZING up there.

I personally wouldnt feel comfortable driving up to moana kea without a 4WD but its doable with anything, just be careful and go slow on way up and if u wait till sunset which is BEAUTIFUL, then itll be dark on way down so take it easy.

Thanks :-)
Any cheap hotels in Hilo?
I got on priceline a motel .

They may be open but their meat isn't all that good...
so this was my second time eating there , first time at a DO , and had a good experience, this time i must say wasnt good.

Service sucked, they stuck us in the only empty table back corner. waiter didnt come to us until i pulled him to our table and after he brought our main course i didnt see him since. we had to call 3 diff waiters every time we wanted something.
7 min after my order or so for Rib eye, i got my steak. ive never had a steak made so fast!! apparantly it was pre cooked, and it wasnt hot , so i sent it back to warm up, and when it came back it lost all its taste really.
anyways we never got offered water refills , and i ordered warm chocolate cake for desert which never came .

so we asked for the bill , that never came either. so we decided to start walking out , and on the way out we asked for the bill, and he started asking who our waiter was , so we told the guy we didnt have one and we paid for the bill  - obviously no tip and ill have to re-consider going back there!

J or C is standard nomenclature for a business class booking.

yes but before looking at the screenshot , i thought that he only saw J - which is Standard Class on AA and would explain why hes not seeing it on BA . he needs to look for U which is saver.

Can someone explain to me what is going on here?
I found an AB flight direct from MIA-DUS in J on AA.com.
I can't get it to show up on BA though. Called in and they said they couldn't see it either.
for the record thats U class not J

U- Saver

J = Standard

I've been trying to cancel an Avios booking online for the past few days and keep getting:

"Unfortunately our systems are not responding, so we are unable to process your request at the moment.
We apologise for this inconvenience and suggest you try again later."

Any ideas what to do? If I do it by phone it will cost me $40/passenger, right?

Only gonna have 2 full days in CNX (coming in Friday morning, leaving Tues mid-day) in January. So for a full-day Sunday and Monday itinerary with tours only, what would one recommend here. The safer the better (for my wife's sake). Must do are elephant activities and tiger sanctuary. If one could also include price and the best place to book the tours, I'd appreciate it. I don't mind spending a little more for a better and more "English/Americanized" tour, since my wife has a lot of worry about going to a third-world country. We'll be staying at the LM.

There are a lot of high-ranked elephant tours on Tripadvisor, with Patara being highest (though most expensive by a lot), so I'm really unsure what to do about that.

Thanks!
i'd love to help you but theres just so much i can repeat.. - ill say go to the Yisrael guy next door to chabad when u land and he'll arranage it all

i'll let rots handle this . Chikkey, Dan, AJK and I did our share :P

If you are transferring UR anyway, def make a new account.
But the account I'm using has 19k in it already so I'm thinking of adding family. And then adding less UR
