So, the Stop and Shop Circular advertisement showed up in the mail today, and I got VERY excited, because I saw "5x Gas Points". And then I saw gift cards.  But, my enthusiasm completely deflated when I saw the gift cards were for the The Gap (and affiliates).  Not that I have anything against The Gap, but I really don't need $500 (or, more optimistically, $2000 or $4000) worth of Gap gift cards...unless someone knows of a way that they can be liquidated.  Anyone? ???

You can do $3000 from GO and the rest with GCs and it'll still be (at least a little) easier.
+ most of us (i think) don't get $5000 worth of GCs at once, so being able to load 3k from your phone and saving you a trip (stop) to a supermarket also helps.

Just a friendly amendment:  It may be easier to load the $3000 directly from your credit card to the TD card via the Web, but you are "only" getting 1 point per dollar transferred.  When you buy gift cards, say from Staples with Ink, you get 5 points per dollar.

Also, just asking again, does anyone have experience using TD Go to pay bills via Evolve Money?

Does anyone know if you can use the TD Go to pay bills on Evolve Money? Presumably it should be fine, but I haven't gotten my card yet so haven't tried.'s been a week since I first ordered my TD Go cards.  Should I be concerned it's taking this long?

They charge you interest when the statement closes so you won't be able to see it until then.
Thanks.  Here's hoping.... :-\

DD link:

I can't find anywhere in their terms and conditions where it says "limit one offer [or account] per person".  Do we know what the limit is on how many times one person / family/ address can use this offer?

There are many 7-Eleven stores in the New York area. I only tried one and was brushed off by the cashier and his supervisor. At that point I decided to avoid frustration and take care of this stuff elsewhere. I'm not saying you can't do this in the NY area, only that it's much easier elsewhere.

I have tried several 7-Eleven (and why is it 7-Eleven, not 7-11, or even Seven-Eleven or Seven-11?) stores in the Boston area and had zero success.  They try but does not go through.

did it change before or after the transaction cleared (from pending)
bec I dont want to get a charged interest on a C.A the rate is crazy

Here is the timeline of events, as I understand them:
1. Use SP to purchase or load TD GO.
2. The transactions are listed as "pending" (as "TD Go") under temporary authorization.
3. Concurrent with #2, the amount "available for cash advance" is reduced by the amount of the TD GO transactions, but the cash advance balance still reads zero.
4. A day or two later, the transactions disappear from the temporary authorization window, and the cash advance balance reflects the amount of the TD GO transactions.
5. After a few more business days, the cash advance balance returns to zero, and the amount available for cash advance returns to its maximum.
6. Concurrent with #5, the transactions appear under "posted activity" as "Sale - TD BANK TD GO CARD LOAD".

I don't where online I can see if I have been charged any interest.  I know where to find that on my monthly statement, but I don't see where to find it in real time online.  Maybe someone can advise?

thanks I did see that post but I think someone else said that it stayed a C.A
I guess I'll just wait to see how long do you think it should take to change?

As I said earlier, I loaded with my Sapphire Preferred, and it remained a cash advance for about 3 business days, and then magically it converted to a regular purchase.  I would recommend sitting on your hands.

OK, that's a helpful data point. I'll sit on my hands for a few days, difficult as that may be!  :o Thanks again.

:) Sure enough, as Jay s said, the two charges for "loading" the TD Go cards magically appeared as regular purchases today, and my limit for Cash Advance is back up to where it started. (I'll try again now to get them to set it to zero, but they have balked in the past. I know; I know: HUCA, HUCA, HUCA.)

I have used chase cards and Barclays cards for a few months already they always post as purchase , except that by chase it originally posts as cash advance and then as a regular purchase

Jay s, that's encouraging.  About how long before the cash advance magically converts to a regular purchase on Chase? And, may I ask, which Chase product...I wonder if it matters?

i don't take any responsibility however listen to the following.
i have read that with CITI  changes over from CA to purchase. I don't know what is with chase.
I did the same thing and i called and had it reversed from TD.
I then funded it with a Barclay card and it went through as reg. purchase not CA. (even though i have CA ability)
To be on safe said I would call TD and cancel the charge and use a cc with 0 CA limit.

Thanks. I appreciate that.  I'm not too worried about the two small cash advances, so I think I'm going to wait a business day or two, and I'll post back here my experience.   I think we are still lacking confirmation on this thread from anyone who has had success purchasing with a Chase card (one mention of a Freedom card being used but I would like to see more data).

I opened two accounts on 7/23, one for each of my teenage children.  Cards have not yet arrived.

I loaded each account with $100 from my Chase SP.  They initially appeared as pending charges, but when I checked my Chase account today, I can't find them.  However, it does appear that they got assessed as cash advances, based on the "Account Details" view:
Cash Advance
    Cash Advance Balance    $0.00
    Cash Advance Limit    $2,000.00
    Available for Cash Advance    $1,790.10
My questions for you all:
1. How can I see the specific listings of the cash advance transactions? (I understand that my two $100 loadings, plus the $4.95 per card, constitute the difference between $2,000 and $1,790.10, but I can't see the individual CA's anywhere.)

2. Can I expect that these apparent CA's will magically convert to purchases?

3. If answer to #2 is NO, what should I do?

Thanks, everyone.

Today is a good day to get a SP.

Is it sufficient to already have a SP, or only a good day if you get the SP today?
