Regarding LH Lounge in BOS:
1. We will be flying LX J ex-BOS. Does that give us LH Lounge access?
2. If not, does Amex Plat give it?
3. Can I get kosher meal in the lounge (would prefer to eat pre-flight so we can sleep right out of the gate)?
4. Whom would I call about the meal? LX or LH Lounge?

TIA

Looking for a good mehalech here.
I currently have PP through AMEX plat and (CSR, i think?) I have AAdmirals through the executive card. I get my two free United passes.
practically I fly most often on short haul flights on American or southwest or other carriers that don't have lounges, or coast to coast in J where i have lounge access regardless.
until November I was using the AA lounges when I flew WN, but that ship has sailed. there are no other lounges in that terminal.
I have a credit card that covers one free lounge membership per year up to $500. last year I bought UA, not only did I not end up using it, but I even let my two free passes expire.
So, what would you recommend is the most worthwhile airport club to buy?

So you fly mostly domestic.
You already have PP and AA access, plus two passes to UA, which you may not even use.
1. Can you buy UA membership in someone elseís name?
2. What does Delta club cost, and could you use it if not flying on Delta?

I donít mean commercial like nice accommodations...they were horrible...lol...I meant like if you want a private tour itís prohibitively expensive, there were lots of other boats and people around, it was set up by the indigenous tribes as a money making system (which is great, Yashar Koach to them). Maybe because it was a Sunday but each step was crowded and we had a certain island route and couldnít deviate. Also, I speak Spanish and so we were fine but if people who donít speak it want to go, I think it would be hard to communicate.  Also one of the kids was really sick and we had to stop on the way back because of car sickness from the drive. Again, maybe it was just timing and luck (I also have high standards and have been to the Maldives and many beautiful islands) but even though it was a very nice day, I just didnít feel it was in any way worth the money we spent or lived up to the hype.  Other good friends of mine who have also been to Panama twice, done San Blas, Los Portobello Islands and Las Perlas, also said the Pearl Islands were totally the highlight of both their trips.  Iím not belittling San Blas, I was just answering the question of which I thought was better. @zow did you go to both? Wanna weigh in here? :)

We enjoyed Las Perlas and would do it again. We did not go to San Blas.

@moko may appreciate this one:
There is a KVH-certified dairy in Sharon called Crescent Ridge, which serves ice cream by the scoop.   Apparently it is very popular with the frum teens in the area, so much so that they refer to oneís first trip there as ... wait for it ... losing oneís Cridginity.

This morning was only time we were really inconvenienced due to high tide.  We planned on catching train to Rome between 10-11. Due to high tide, water buses can't go through canal (they won't make it under bridges) so we had to wait until after 12. By then the water had receded and we were able to walk without boots and get the bus to train station.
That's a helpful data point. Thank you, again. enjoy the rest of your trip!

We were very concerned but went anyway. We changed our trip from 2.5 days in Venice to 1.5 because of the news. For us 1.5 days was just enough.
Thanks. Our itinerary includes three nights, over Shabbat.

My DW and I are in Venice now and we're able to do everything we wanted. Jewish Museum Tour, Murano Island, S Marco Sq. Jewish Ghetto is fine. Restaurants are open

High tide is twice a day around 10am and 9:30 pm when some areas get flooded a bit. A good pair of boots, DW's Hunters and my 5 Euro pullover booties kept us dry. Of course if there is record flooding all bets are off.

That's very reassuring. Really appreciate it and hope you have a wonderful remainder of your trip.

We are scheduled to visit Venice in early January, but now we are reconsidering.  We are booked at Gritti Palace and in an AirBnB.  Would appreciate hearing others' recent experiences in Venice -- anyone been there in the last few weeks? -- and any thoughts on whether you would cancel this long-planned special trip.

I do not have any United status.  What's the chance that I will be able to upgrade a revenue Y ticket to J for LAX-BOS on a mid-week red-eye?  I'm presuming it's near zero.  :'(

Same s&s account for redeeming 12?
Yes.  Last time around the limit was somewhere between 10 and 20.
