COVID-19 Discussion Board / Re: Unemployment Help
« on: July 06, 2020, 11:32:47 AM »
In nj when ppl are saying to call to get packpay is this talking about from beginning of when they were unemployed or from when they filed UI?
I have been receiving from when I first applied, but on the application I wrote the date I first became unemployed which was a few weeks prior. Iím self employed so did not realize I could file for UI until a few weeks in...
Thanx

This loan is giving $1000 per employee. One of the questions asks if the business has a material financial need that cannot be overcome without the grant of emergency relief funds. Can any self employed person running a small business honestly say that without this $1000 they are closing up shop? How can this be proven otherwise?

thanx! plz post when/if it works
This method did work but it seems thereís a limit to how much can be transferred at once. When I tried the full amount it said invalid amount, so I took a guess and tried 1500 and it worked. When I tried to do another transfer after that one, it said my daily amount has been reached.

Call the phone number given to activate the card.
Then go to the website they give and create login/password for your account.
It tells you the balance on the card, and gives you several options, one of which is to transfer the money elsewhere.  There's no fee for this (though there are fees for some of the other options).
Put in the routing number and checking account number for your bank account, such as the one you use to pay your cc with benefits.
At least, this is what my mother did yesterday, though I don't know if she checked today to make sure the money was actually transferred.
Thanx

Has anyone received a Visa card instead of dd or check? What is the best way to cash it out? I donít want to use it as a cc since it has no benefits...

Don't count your chickens just yet.
We got the exact same email a week ago and as I wrote above - 1) we only received the minimum $231 for PUA, 2) it was retroactive to the date of filing not the date of unemployment - which was 1 1/2 weeks earlier, 3) & we didn't receive any of the FPUC $600 a week.
+1

-$3000
Im just happy to get the approval after weeks of silence. They'll get the $ right at some point.

What are you all doing? Just hoping it will all clear itself up eventually?
I had the same thing- Iím self employed and they never asked me for any income info or tax returns, now they told me to file and I see they put in the minimum amount. I just got notice that my funds went through since time I filed (not from actual unemployment) and itís missing PUA.

Cash or Accrual ?
taxpayer is usually cash, if you get a 1099 though you could have issues
and you cant really get it and not deposited, because of constructive receipt

thanx - it was a check written out to business so there's no 1099, and wasn't deposited til a while later. Which year was it supposed to be filed as income? Since the payer was counting it as an expense from the previous year I filed it for that year as well even though I only deposited the next year. correct or not?

For income checks written out in one year (dec) but deposited the next year (feb) - which year do you file it as income?
