Was referring to the one-way streets. On the 2-ways it's a similar idea. Not sure what you're asking.

Cool that number 7 is on my account already, took weeks for the first 6 to post now hours for the 7th..

In proper times these things get updated pretty much right away. It's mainly since the DDMS overhaul that things got so farshlept.

ASP is on a few blocks at a time, not the entire city.

If you are talking about people being prepared for it, I don't see a difference. If your problem is the city pulling off such a plowing in such a short time, I'm sure with a couple more trucks and proper planning it shouldn't be that difficult to pull off.

If it's a predetermined time? Why not? Everyone knows that the first 10am that is at least x amount of hours after the snowfall ends they have to move their cars. I don't see a problem with that. How is that different than regular ASP?

Have you ever been to Canada? Over there the crew arrives, blows a horn and any car remaining after a couple minutes gets towed. The snow gets blown into dump trucks and carried away.

Ok i am dying here. i need a place to live where there is a growing number of normal early millenial modox (with yeshivish leanings) families that is a good commute (under 1 hour) to downtown Manhattan. Needs to have decent housing options (with backyards) near shuls and schools at prices that are not astronomical (i.e. excluding flatbush, if there are millennial families there). is there really nothing?

If there is all that snow then how would they double park and still have room for the plows?

Once the middle of the roadway is clear, that's where they'll park. There's enough room for the plow to pass. A standard road is 3 comfortable lanes.

I thought about this issue a whole lot, especially recently. The way it is, ASP under such conditions is hard to enforce. If, however, there is a set system in place where the first day beginning after x amount of hour from when the snow stops falling ALL cars from the even side of the street should double park on the opposite side for an hour or so, and on the following day all cars from the odd side should double park halfway across, then it's something fairly doable. Of course the exact logistics have to be carefully worked out, but once it's systematized it can work beautifully like clockwork.

That's maybe when NYC will begin competing with Beachwood.
