Also I wonder if calling to change statement date would make it happen faster? Any experiences on this?
I don't think so.. I waited a full two weeks after my statement posted until the miles posted.

Has anybody ever ordered kosher food from amazon.co.jp?
I'm also thinking of ordering a toaster oven and taking it with me between hotels...

JAL J awards wide open from JFK to HND starting from April 2017. Many dates with 4 seats available.
Looks like April is all full :-(
I'm still looking in March for a pre-pesach getaway...

Do the bonus points post only after closing of the first statement?

Where do you recommend on staying?
I remember you wrote upwards in this thread that you stayed at one of the Hyatts... And Dan stayed at the PH.
Is it worth it even if I have no status?

See TR on DD
I have  :D One of my inspirations for this trip...
I wanted to hear from someone who has spent more then just Shabbat at the Sheraton, if they found it convenient...

Sheraton was perfect for Shabbos.
Did you stay at the Sheraton beyond Shabbat? Is it centrally located? I have enough starpoints for 4 nights (fifth night free), trying to figure out if it makes sense staying there for so long.

So it seems like there are 3 places to stay for shabbat in Japan:
  • Tokyo - R' Sudakevich (official Chabad)
  • Tokyo - R' Rabbi Binyomin Edery (other Chabad)
  • Kobe - Ohel Shelomo/ R' Shmuel Vishedsky
Tokyo seems the obvious choice, but is there any preference? Both get minyanim, ok food?
Has anyone been to Kobe? Is it a nice atmosphere?

Looks like they're all out...  :-[
I wonder how they got those prices,as it's a lot lower than the base fare for both the IB and AZ flights...

I've paid for Israel Railways (through a machine) using Citi Premier.
Used CSR credit towards Student חופשי שנתי through Egged. Worked like a charm  ;)

A lot of the new gas stations with new or "renewed" pumps (the slimlined ones) don't accept foreign CCs at all (SPG, Citi Permier, IHG). I've tried Paz, Delek and Dor/Alon.
I've managed (once) at a Delek to pay inside with an IHG card and the guy managed to make it go through, but most of the time I don't have the patience...

Personally, I use my SPG card for just about everything in Israel, unless I'm trying to hit a signup bonus for a new card.

I assumed you've checked to see that the merchants code as you expect? I've had some makolot not show up as supermarkets before  :-[

👆 גם אני מצטרף להנ״ל

I've been there twice in March/April. No problems other than a little bit of haze.
I have been there in April. I was expecting the worst after reading all the reports online. It was def hazy at times but really nothing to worry about.
Thanks so much. Full steam ahead on CNX plans!
Now I just have to decide if we should head up to Chiang Rai as well, or skip it and head straight to the islands (USM, Ko Phi Phi and Ko Phangan).

Has anyone been to Chiang Mai or Chiang Rai in April? My wife and I were planning to spend a week there after Pesach, but I just heard about this rice field burning business, which apparently makes it very hard to breath, ruins visibility..
Any personal experiences?

Also, is it still worth going to the Le Meridian Chiang Mai now that it's a category 3? I see that the Le Meridian Chiang Rai is still category 2. We're not really looking for night life, but we would like to do some nice day-hikes, some elephant shows/riding and maybe some extreme sports... (And obviously, CNX has Chabad)

Does anyone know if Turkish Airlines open up award availability (in any class) near departure date?
I'm looking to fly TLV-IST-MLE motzei shvii pesach, but on United it doesn't show any availability on Turkish and is trying to route me through all sorts of other places and only then to IST.

TIA
