Up In The Air / Re: Paying for seats
« on: May 13, 2019, 11:37:33 AM »
Using google flights. Itís free if you upgrade your tickets for $120....
That means youíre looking at basic economy that only allows choosing seats for a 9$ fee 48 hours before the flight, or they give you free seats at check in. They usually put you together if the seats are available.
60$ is to upgrade to a regular economy ticket that allows you to choose free seats.

I'm on an AA married segment award ticket, was supposed to be ATL-DCA-IND. I'm getting off in DCA but the flight out of ATL is delayed 3.5 hrs causing me to "miss" my connection obviously and I'll be "forced to stay overnight in DCA." I'm obviously not going to bring anything up here in ATL as I want to get to DCA tonight, not IND. The question is do I try to see if I can get some sort of comp when I land in DCA or just drop it? Award booked out of my own AA account, taxes paid with CSR.
Interesting idea. I had a similar question last week with a HC JAX-EWR-PIT. I got to Newark and flight to Pittsburgh was delayed. Thought of asking for a full refund but then decided that may be pushing it so I just left the airport. What would they say if I ask for a refund? Would they make me go back to JAX?

Not an emergency landing. It is passing over many airports on its way back.
Probably going back to IST due to new UK restrictions. They may not be allowed to land.

What was the original airport and what's the new one?

Up In The Air / Re: Connection Times - Am I cutting it too close?

Brussels air Tlv to Bru is the worst flight I have ever taken. Bru and united are partner airlines so there should not be an issue with transferring your bag though Brussels lost my luggage between two of their own flights. Brussels airport has at least two security checks up to three depending where in the airport you have to go to. the walk between any two points is very far it may be possible to make the connection but I would not try to make it that close.
-1. I agree Brussels isnít the best airline, but I did this connection many times. Bags transfer directly and thereís enough time to connect.

Iím planning on adding on an infant to a RJ ticket booked through Expedia. Anyone have experience with this?

If I book a refundable hotel in March and cancel in April, will I get 10 points per $ and then lose 1.5 on the cancellation?

I'm a united cardholder is there any benefit to paying an extra 30 to be in regular economy vs basic?
Advance seat assignment, changes and cancellation policies.

is having an israeli passport tucked away in your pocket a problem?
You can travel with an Israeli passport! No need to tuck it in your pocket. Israelis use RJ all the time to the Far East.

They emailed me at 8am Wednesday to say the flight would be delayed until 8am Thursday. At the airport they told me the plane was late in arriving in Tel Aviv because of "maintenance"
Does that sound like a weather delay or a bad-planning delay?
ďMaintenanceĒ is definitely worth requesting compensation for. See how they respond and act accordingly.

Customer service in Israel or in the US?
When I google United Airlines Compensation, I get this site:

Can I submit my taxi receipt also?
Dosnít make a difference where you submit it to, it always gets to the same office.
