General Discussion / Re: Liqour/Whiskey/Bourbon Master Thread

https://oukosher.org/publications/bourbon-sheavar-hapesach/

The Sazerac company brands, including buffalo trace, blantons, eagle rare, pappy and many more, owned by the Goldring family, don't sell their chometz and thats where problems arise.
However the Heaven Hill brand(Parker's, evan williams, elijah craig), owned by the shapira family, sell their chometz and is kosher-see star-k list.
All other major bourbon brands are owned by non-jews.

The article concludes they could certify. DId they certify?

Passport application requires birth certificate, so if you don't have that (due to the circumstances), you'd first need to get one.

https://www.cdc.gov/nchs/w2w/new_york_city.htm

Don't know how voiding check would go..
I know if you dispute CC charge from car rental, they will blacklist you. Wouldn't want to take that chance with the US Government  :-\

Im told you can apply with a certified copy of the BS

We filled out a application on Sunday to have our son's first passport made (4-6 week wait). We also gave in checks that were not yet cashed.

Our plans changed and we would like to leave the country asap. I called the passport office and they havent even received the application so they cannot expedite it.

Q: If they do receive it over the weekend will they be able to expited it i.e same day?
Q: If they do receive it over the weekend and cannot expidite it, would i be able to go to passport office and start a new app for same day service?

If they do not receive it I imagine I will have no problem getting same day service from scratch, but then I would like to viod the check on the first application. Is there a problem with that plan?

Thanks

Even franklin BBQ wraps, albeit in butcher paper

In one of his videos he showed all three ways (foil/paper/and no wrap). The on with no wrap had must bark flavor...

I am just discouraged because this is like the 5 or 6 one im messing up with no successes.

On a side note is he jewish?

you can crank up the heat and put it back on after you hit your desired temp. most people stop adding wood for smoke after a few hours anyway

not in texas:)

I've spent a fair amount of time rolling around the white mountains.  It is obviously harder to drive anywhere with an RV. That said, I have seen few places in the White mountains that you really cannot go with an RV.

If anyone in the Whites now and wants a pretty spot for a picnic or to go fishing or boating if you have a boat that you bring with you, hit me up by pm.

Can you please elaborate. What type of barriers you are referring too? What exactly would we not be able to do?

Im thinking to take an RV up to NH(because I figure it is cheaper (and funner) then renting a car and paying for Lodging.)

We can escape the bad weather and hit a few places like Loon and white mountain.

My question is if it will be harder to get around with my massive Motor home.

Any thoughts?

I dont understand how one can expect to cook a huge uneven peice of meat-the first cut, long and skinny and lean, with a second cut, fatty thick and small- in a cabin with different temps (close to fire ect)....

I did a small (9LB)prime american packer yesterday.

Started at 730 AM fat cap down @ 250F.

I opened it up to probe it and shpritz it at hour 5 and hour 9. At hour 10 I decided to cover it with butcher paper and bumped it up to 275 because my guests were coming over soon.

Hour 11 I took it off with some areas probing different temps All below 190 some even as low as 165.

Rest one hour.

Result: over cooked. Some of the lean meat was edible and even a little juicy but most of it was burned to a crisp. The second cut was pretty juicy for the most part, but it was a small second cut compared with the first.

What could have gone wrong: I set the temp to 250 but because it was a hot day and the cooker was in the sun it could have added 25 or 50 degrees to the ambient temp.
