Bah, I published the version before the proofing.
My efforts were for naught!

And only one Hyatt hotel in the entire state  >:(.
Better than New Hampshire which has zero...
Don't waste time looking for points hotels to explore Acadia. The only large chain hotel in Bar Harbor is a Holiday Inn IIRC. You could stay at points hotels near BGR airport, but that puts you over an hour each way from Acadia.

I applied for a new child's passport using regular delivery timing at the post office on March 4. We finally received an update that it is approved today with an expected delivery of June 30.

7th year in biglaw in banking/lending practice (so not one of the supposedly "lifestyle" practices like Tax or T&E). My billable hours last 2 years were 1967 and 1872 respectively + another 170ish or so firm/pro-bono work, so definitely not doing 80 hour billable weeks on a regular basis. Would not be surprised if people telling you that they consistently do 80 hr billable weeks are exaggerating or over-billing.

There are legitimate counter arguments, such as ability to physically monitor employees.
Consider If employees' work (and for fair comparison, we're talking about the types of jobs that could be done remotely vs. stocking a warehouse etc.) is boring to the point that employees can't be trusted to perform remotely without employer monitoring, they probably can't be trusted in the office either. Plenty workers in boring jobs waste away hours in the physical office.

I recomend two resources on point:

The book "Remote": https://www.amazon.com/Remote-Office-Required-Jason-Fried/dp/0804137501

Great Hidden Brain podcast on "BS" jobs https://www.npr.org/2018/08/28/642706138/bs-jobs-how-meaningless-work-wears-us-down

I work in the Miami office of a global NYC-based law firm. I work mostly with colleagues in the NYC office and very few of my clients are even in Florida, so even before this hit, the Miami office was mostly a "remote" location from my perspective and I worked from home at least one day a week. In the pre-Covid era, I used to work out of WeWork spaces in Toronto when visiting family there and no one at the firm knew the difference. Frankly, many of the "culture" things that people point to in the centralized physical office (e.g. colleagues popping in to chat or socialize) are fine in moderation but on a full-time basis distract me from getting deep work done.

I think having a shared space that folks can get into, as needed, to collaborate, establish a routine, or get away from home-distractions will remain important post-Covid, but this has definitely been a light-bulb experience to many senior partners who previously swore by the face-time model.

Chickies (a NJ based fast food restaurant) recently announced they are sending their food truck to Orlando to offer kosher food due to "current demand" - so likely many have already escaped NYC area to Orlando.
Local kosher grocery store in Boca/Hollywood/Bal Harbor the Grove, has been offering weekly deliveries to Orlando since Pesach.

The livestream stopped. Does that mean Deblasio has made his appearance? I'm impressed logistically that they are avoiding detection bringing all the AV equipment into the above-ground building and with the presumably loud live production inside.

Where are they hosting it?

her. Just ordered some directly at https://californiagourmet.net/ for Pesach. Excellent product.

yea but everyone will get a basic set if shuls are still closed since no need to show off.
If the matza thread (https://forums.dansdeals.com/index.php?topic=40116.0) is any indication, you can still brag about how much you paid on DDF.

Due to social distancing, many Chabad shluchim arranged seders to go this year. Will they be sending arba minim in the same way? Might be a spike in demand for basic sets.

Dear Customer,

Due to a system error with a mistaken fare, your Delta ticket for travel on Air France in La Première/First Class which was recently purchased has to be cancelled.

You will be rebooked in Business Class for the same date and flight; alternatively, you may request a full refund of the fare paid, consistent with DOT guidelines and policy.

We apologize for this inconvenience.  If you have any questions in the meantime, you may Contact Us on Delta.com to help you in this matter.

Kind Regards,
Air France

Actually favorably surprised by this reaction considering last year's mistake F fares out of LAX were cancelled entirely.

Maybe belongs in the interesting article thread...

Deals/Deal Requests / Re: ISO: Large Freezer Recommendations

FYI "This item is currently on backorder. You can continue to place an order for this item with an earliest available delivery date of 04/22/2020."

In case you wanted it for Pesach...
Yes, that is an issue, but would prefer to get the freezer we want long term vs. get one that will be here before Pesach.
