Up In The Air / Re: Air Berlin to NYC-TLV $467 (Cancelled flights)

I would book it as a codeshare with Delta/KLM/AF if possible so that those airlines would need to rebook you on their metal if Alatalia defaults.
I don't see how that would be any different then Chase covering it, in any case they would need to rebook me, I think?

Check the T&C. IINM CSR does NOT cover in case of financial default. Citi Premier does.
From the CSR T&C:
"Financial insolvency of the Cardholderís travel agency, tour operator, or travel supplier"

Before I go ahead and book alitalia flights for August with the CSR, can someone confirm that they successfully were able to make a claim/rebook in a timely manner their cancelled flights?
Thanks

Credit Cards / Re: Citi Hilton HHonors Visa Signature Card
« on: March 19, 2018, 10:16:30 AM »
So I opened this card in 6/2015 and closed it 10/2017, first year after the 10k spend got my anniversary night no problem. Second year I was never credited with the anniversary night (the only reason I kept the card open).  Problem is I only realized this about a month ago, long story short after a whole bunch of phone calls I finally spoke to someone who understood the issue, she pulled up the statements and confirmed that indeed I had spent more than the requisite 10k and said it was odd that I was not credited with a free night. She said the most she could do was credit me $100 but she understands that the night is worth more so she will put a note on the account. I call a week later and find out I got a $100 credit (which I specifically said I was not willing to take), spoke to other reps who said they will escalate the issue and I should call back in 3-5 Business days so I called back and after waiting 30 minutes on hold was transferred yet again to Hilton who of course claim they never got the cert and I need to speak with Citi. What is my recourse? Can/should I take them to a small claims court? I assume that by not giving a benefit they violate the agreement, or maybe not?
This is especially troubling since I really assumed I had this night for an upcoming vacation and only realized that it was never credited when I looked in my Hilton account and spoke with Hilton. In addition all the reps keep trying to transfer me to Hilton I have to explain to each one that it is not a Hilton issue at all...

Things are very different now than in the times of the Mordechai. This is discussed in poskim. Bread can have all sorts of ingredients which they did not use then. Release agents are used which were not used then. There are breads which may have shared equipment with the plain breads etc.
I mentioned permitting legislation. Fundamentally there is no difference in terms of whether you should trust say your French baguet today and back then, it is simply a matter of trust. Secondly, there certainly always was the issue of using the ovens for other items. This did not bother the rishonim for various reasons. The main difference is that 'we' are much frummer then the Mordechai or most Ashkenazi Jews leading into the 19th century.

There is very little that can go wrong with plain bread (just chala  pretty much) keep in mind that in many places permitting appropriate legislation people buy bread from goyim with no supervision at all. (This is minhag Ashkenaz for many years discussed in the Mordechai).

Picture of the room and the bathroom.   You can probably appreciate that the guest room is small ó think Manhattan.  But nicely laid out, lots of outlets, good closet storage, safe, little fridge, and overlooking old city.

I donít know hashgacha...will try to find out.

Booked points and cash, 3k+$65  I think I had to call.
This is the grand deluxe (or whatever the highest non suite is called) not the suite, correct?

Thatís very interesting.
Unlike the OU, the LBD does not always require their symbol to appear on the package to ensure the authenticity of kashrut therein.
My suspicion is that the item is indeed kosher by the LBD (assuming it is included on their list on the website) and that the company just made a mistake (autocorrect?) when printing the label.
Could be, although it is kind of strange to have autocorrect on a logo, you would think the logo would be given as a '.gif' or some sort of pic file not a text file...I think it is kosher but don't understand how this error came about.

Iberia lounge at Madrid: Found a Bfree roll which seems to have the KLBD (London Beis din) on package BUT on closer inspection it actually says KLTD. Although when looking at the LBD's website found this:

See attached picture for symbol.

In other words, the real value is zero and its entire value is discrepancy.
It has the same value as the dollar, in one word 'consensus ' that may not have intrinsic value but it has plenty of real world value, zero value is something that one person values but not others.

Ripe for a crash.
Crashes happen largely when there is discrepancy between real value and perceived value. In this case there is no 'real " value the only determining factor is the demand which keeps on coming...
